InpartnershipwiththeWorldEconomicForum,theSchwabFoundationistheforemostglobalcommunityofpioneeringsocialentrepreneursandinnovatorsdrivingsystemicchange.Establishedbyco-foundersHilde

andKlausSchwabin1998,theFoundation’sambitionistosupportsocialentrepreneursandinnovatorsfromacrosstheworldintacklingcomplexchallengesthatdriveinequalityandexclusion,helpingthemtocreaterealchangeforpeopleandtheplanet.AstheFoundationworkstowardsthisambitionwithitspartnersandcommunityofsocialentrepreneursand

facingextremeunpredictableweatherevents

anddisasters,whichhavepushedanadditional23millionpeopleintoextremepovertyand

exceededcriticalplanetaryboundariesoverthelasttwoyears.

TheUnitedNationsreportontheprogress

towardsthe2030SustainableDevelopment

Goalshighlightsstalledprogressandgrowinginequities.Only17%ofthegoalsareattainableatthecurrentrateofprogress,withminimalormoderateprogressonmeetinghalfthegoals.Movementtowardsmorethanathirdhas

stalledorevenregressed.Thecomplexitiesweencounterareimmense,whichcallsforgreatercooperationandinclusivesolutions.

Inthesecriticaltimes,theworkofsocial

entrepreneursandinnovatorsisnotjustrelevant,itisessential.Theireffortsaretransforming

healthcareandeducation,creatinglivelihoodsforthoseexcludedfrommarketsandeconomies,

anddemonstratingclimateactionhandinhandwithcommunities.

Thisyear,wecelebratethe2025awardees,whosecourageousleadershipexemplifies

theextraordinarypotentialofsocialinnovationacrosssectors.

Itisnotablethatsupportandinterestinsocialinnovationisgainingmomentumasisits

practice,frompoliciesthatpromoteitinover30countries,topartnershipswithbusinesstoreachimpactatscale.Fromaglobalreviewofdatafromover80countriesundertakenbytheSchwabFoundationwithourpartners,weestimatethattherearenowover10million

socialenterprisesglobally,creatingover200millionjobsandgeneratingover$2trillioninannualrevenue.
