電子技術(shù)發(fā)展史Thehistoryofelectronicsisastoryofthetwentiethcenturyandthreekeycomponentsarevacuumtube,transistor,andintegratedcircuit.Avacuumtube(Fig.1-1)alsocalledanelectrontubeisasealedglassinwhichelectronsflowbetweenelectrodesseparatedbyvacuum.Vacuumtubewasinventedintheearly20thcentury.Withtheinventionofvacuumtubeitbecamepossibletoamplifyandtransmittheelectricalenergy.Thefirstapplicationsofelectrontubeswereinradiocommunications.CommunicationtechnologywasabletomakehugeadvancesbeforeWorldWarIIasmorespecializedvacuumtubesweremadeformanyapplications.Radiobroadcastinggrewastronomicallyinthe1920sandradiobecametheprimarysourceofentertainment(Fig.1-2).Televisionwasinventedin1927andfinallybecamewidelyavailable.DevelopmentofthetelevisionasanelectronicdevicebenefitedfrommanyimprovementsmadetoradarduringWorldWarII.Radar(Fig.1-3)measuresthedistanceanddirectiontoanobjectusingechoesofradiomicrowaves.Itisusedforaircraftandshipdetection.Afterthewar,electrontubeswereusedtodevelopthefirstcomputers(Fig.1-4),buttheywereimpracticalbecauseofthesizeoftheelectroniccomponents.
