byacreative-writingworkshop,Ionlyrequiredthatthepiecemeetthespecificationsofitsgenre（體裁）andthatit

containathesis.Theresultswerestaggering.Thestudentstookondiversetopicsandturnedinstories,10to20pages

each,withcharactersthatbroadenedmyviewandtouchedmyheart.

Iwalkedintoclassbelievingthatwritingisimportantasameansofcommunication.However,mystudents
