某廠有位員工,技術(shù)不錯(cuò),就是組織紀(jì)律性差點(diǎn),廠里出什么亂子時(shí).,總有他的參與。

雖然經(jīng)過幾次勸導(dǎo),他也是好一陣壞一陣。老板愛其才,不想輕易辭退他。經(jīng)過觀察,老

板發(fā)現(xiàn)該員工特別喜愛足球,下班時(shí)愛和朋友們游戲一番,因此該員工被稱為廠里第一腳。

不久老板決定,成立廠里的足球隊(duì),由該員工擔(dān)任主管,負(fù)責(zé)訓(xùn)練以及聯(lián)系其他廠舉行友誼

賽。老板規(guī)定每次訓(xùn)練或比賽前每個(gè)人必須先按質(zhì)按量完成自己的工作。該員工看見能夠

做自己感興趣的事情,就爽快地答應(yīng)了。由于有了動(dòng)力,該員工不僅工作勤快認(rèn)真,而且管

理球隊(duì)也是井井有條,工作紀(jì)律性和責(zé)任心有了很大的提高。

這則小故事說明,做任何事情,只要因材施教就能達(dá)到事半功倍的效果。就高校

英語聽力教學(xué)而言,我們也面臨著這樣種形勢(shì):市場上現(xiàn)有的聽力教材大多是按照普通一

二批本科生的聽力水平編寫的,有的聽力教材甚至超出目前中國高校學(xué)生的基本聽力水平。

這使得許多獨(dú)立院校、高職院校的學(xué)生在使用和學(xué)習(xí)這些教材的過程中非常困難,容易失去

學(xué)習(xí)的信心。

針對(duì)學(xué)生的實(shí)際情況,我們組織了一批長期耕耘在教學(xué)第一線并長期從事教學(xué)研究

的優(yōu)秀教師編寫了《新感覺大學(xué)英語聽力教程》(共有四冊(cè))。這套教材具有四個(gè)特色:

1.專業(yè)素質(zhì)與非專業(yè)素質(zhì)并重,趣味性與技巧性同步,滿足了成功素質(zhì)教育教學(xué)的基本

要求?,F(xiàn)在編寫的教材過多地強(qiáng)調(diào)專業(yè)知識(shí)的傳授,而忽視了對(duì)學(xué)生整體素質(zhì)的培養(yǎng)。成功

素質(zhì)教育是我國方興未艾的素質(zhì)教育的新突破,是大學(xué)人才培養(yǎng)模式的新創(chuàng)造,它是武漢科

技大學(xué)中南分校率先提出的一種全新的大學(xué)教育理念。它是以讓學(xué)生具備成功者所共有的特

征即成功素質(zhì)為培養(yǎng)目標(biāo),實(shí)行專業(yè)素質(zhì)與非專業(yè)素質(zhì)的有機(jī)結(jié)合,使學(xué)生在學(xué)校即具備成

功素質(zhì),一跨出校門就能適應(yīng)社會(huì),并能在激烈的競爭中獲得成功素質(zhì)的一種教育理念和教

育模式。成功素質(zhì)教育教學(xué)觀還要求教師應(yīng)該讓學(xué)生變被動(dòng)學(xué)習(xí)為主動(dòng)學(xué)習(xí),變“要我學(xué)”

為“我要學(xué)”。在《新感覺大學(xué)英語聽力教程》這套書里,編者在基礎(chǔ)階段到提升階段的編

寫內(nèi)容上介紹了聽力技巧和聽力訓(xùn)練。這不僅便于學(xué)生自學(xué)和鞏固所學(xué)的知識(shí),而且還能激

發(fā)學(xué)生主動(dòng)學(xué)習(xí)英語的興趣。

2.教材體現(xiàn)了實(shí)用教學(xué)理念。成功素質(zhì)教育認(rèn)為,教學(xué)最重要的原則是“管用、夠

用、會(huì)用”,即“三用”原則?!肮苡谩奔唇虒W(xué)內(nèi)容要管用,不管用的不教;“夠用”即保證

教學(xué)內(nèi)容達(dá)到培養(yǎng)目標(biāo);“會(huì)用”就是保證教學(xué)內(nèi)容為學(xué)生真正掌握。教學(xué)的主要目的不僅

僅是傳授知識(shí),更應(yīng)該是傳授方法、訓(xùn)練思維、開啟智慧。正是在這樣一種教學(xué)理念的指導(dǎo)

下我們編寫了《新感覺大學(xué)英語聽力教程》系列教材。從教材每課題材的選擇到每種題型的

搭配,編者都一一把關(guān),力求教材內(nèi)容的編寫符合“三用”原則的基本要求。

3.教材的編寫體現(xiàn)了因材施教的理念。成功素質(zhì)教育認(rèn)為,學(xué)生人人都可能成功,

但同時(shí)又承認(rèn)人的素質(zhì)基礎(chǔ)和素質(zhì)特長的差異,因此主張因材施教。學(xué)校要根據(jù)學(xué)生基礎(chǔ)和

特長確定素質(zhì)培養(yǎng)的目標(biāo)和方法。前言開頭的一個(gè)小故事正是說明了這?點(diǎn)。我們教材編寫

的整個(gè)過程也體現(xiàn)了這一基本理念。

4.本教材的編寫注重多元文化。一直以來,英語教材都是一元文化。編寫者只注意英、

美文化而忽視了中國文化。本教材的編寫堅(jiān)持多元文化的原則,不僅注意英、美文化,同時(shí)

也融入中國文化,因而促使中、西文化的融合與和諧發(fā)展。

這套大學(xué)英語聽力叢書由四個(gè)分冊(cè)組成,每冊(cè)16個(gè)單元,每冊(cè)后均附有測(cè)試題兩套。

每單元由listeningStrategy和ListeningPassages兩大部分組成。書后附有詞匯、練習(xí)答案和

錄音聽力材料,可供讀者參考使用。本套教材可作為高等院校,尤其是獨(dú)立院校、高職院校

學(xué)生大學(xué)英語聽力教材,同時(shí)可供學(xué)有余力的英語愛好者及相關(guān)英語工作者作為擴(kuò)大知識(shí)

面、提高專業(yè)水平的英語聽力學(xué)習(xí)材料。

叢書由武漢科技大學(xué)中南分校語言與語言教育研究所組織編寫,叢書主編李道順教授,

主審余澄清教授。李道順、李雙鎖為第一冊(cè)主編,余澄清主審,田仙枝、鞠麗、李艷雄、

為了適應(yīng)我國政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、文化、教育的需要,我國各行各業(yè)都在學(xué)習(xí)英語,掀起了?

波又一波的熱潮?!澳愕挠⒄Z學(xué)習(xí)得怎么樣?”“怎樣才能學(xué)好英語?”成為一個(gè)大家(包括

教師、學(xué)生和家長)矚目的問題。英語被看成是?個(gè)科目、一個(gè)整體。但是相對(duì)來說,“你學(xué)

什么英語?”這個(gè)較為具體的問題卻談?wù)摰帽容^少。如果我們?cè)偕钊胍稽c(diǎn)觀察我們自己是怎

樣學(xué)習(xí)和使用自己的母語,就會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)一般人對(duì)自己的母語并非全都掌握的,例如一個(gè)醫(yī)生、

一個(gè)工程師或一個(gè)語文教師在工作中所使用的語匯就大不相同。至于法律條文,更不是一般

人所能理解。解放初期,有一個(gè)俄語專業(yè)畢業(yè)的學(xué)生被分配到武漢當(dāng)長江大橋建設(shè)中的前蘇

聯(lián)專家的翻譯,有一天專家要他去拿一個(gè)co6aMKa,在俄語里,co6aKa是“狗”,

而在構(gòu)詞法里MKa是“小”的意思。結(jié)果他花了幾天找到一頭小狗拖去工地,專家見后

哈哈大笑,原來c。6auKa除了“小狗”的意義以外,在機(jī)械用語里還有“制動(dòng)片”的

意思。其實(shí)英語中的dog也有這個(gè)意思,不過一般人很少用到它。

從語體使用的角度看,我們對(duì)自己的母語也不是全都懂得的。?般來說,我們掌握三方

面的語言:一是語言的核心部分(包括基本的詞匯和語法);二是和我們的職業(yè)或?qū)I(yè)有關(guān)的

語言(例如法律語言、會(huì)計(jì)語言、計(jì)算機(jī)語言……);三是和個(gè)人的愛好有關(guān)的語言(例如音樂

語言、集郵語言、足球語言……)。母語如此,遑論外語?所以學(xué)習(xí)一門外語不可能掌握它

的全部,除了語言的核心必須學(xué)好外,只能根據(jù)需要,學(xué)習(xí)一些和自己有關(guān)的語言。這個(gè)想

法從20世紀(jì)的60年代就開始流行,這就是所謂專門用途語言(LanguageforSpecific

Purposes),而且深入到教學(xué)大綱和教材、教法的不同層面。在我國的大學(xué)英語教育中,首先

出現(xiàn)的是供文科和理工科使用的不同的教材,其后又出現(xiàn)供醫(yī)科、農(nóng)科使用的教材,等等。

當(dāng)然專門用途語言也有許多有待討論和解決的問題,例如怎樣處理基礎(chǔ)和專業(yè)的關(guān)系、專門

化的程度、怎樣進(jìn)行需要分析,等等。這些問題只能通過實(shí)踐的摸索才能得以完滿解決。

我很高興看到由余澄清主審,李道順、羅虹、安鐵漢、余澄清、李雙鎖主編的“高等院

校藝術(shù)英語類圖書”的問世。教材從實(shí)際需要出發(fā),考慮到各種語言能力的培養(yǎng),內(nèi)容豐富、

練習(xí)充實(shí);這是專門用途英語的另一枝奇花,可以滿足藝術(shù)類學(xué)生的大學(xué)英語的需要。當(dāng)然

一套好的教材是“煉”出來的,只有反復(fù)使用、修訂,才能趨于完善。但是這總歸是在實(shí)踐

的過程中邁出可貴的一步,值得祝賀!
