系統(tǒng)功能語言學(xué)理論框架下的英文簡歷的語類分析的綜述報(bào)告IntroductionThestudyoflanguagehassignificantcontributionstovariousfields,includinglinguistics,psychology,computerscience,andeducation.Oneofthesignificantareaswherelanguagestudyisapplicableisinjobapplications,whereinaresumeorcurriculumvitae(CV)issubmitted.ACVisessentialtogiveanoverviewoftheapplicant'squalifications,skills,andexperiences.Assuch,thelanguageusedinaCVneedstobeappropriate,accurate,andprecise.Thesystemicfunctionallinguistics(SFL)theoryprovidesaframeworkforanalyzingthelanguageusedinaCV.Inthisreport,IwillpresentasummaryofarticlesthatdiscussthelanguageclassanalysisofanEnglishresumeusingtheSFLtheory.SystemicFunctionalLinguistics(SFL)SFLisatheorythatwasdevelopedbylinguistsMichaelHallidayandRuqaiyaHasan.Itanalyzeslanguagebyexaminingtherelationoflanguagetothecontextofsituation,whichinvolvesexaminingthepurpose,field,andtenor.Thetheoryproposesthatlanguageisfunctional,anditsprimarypurposeistocommunicatemeaning.SFLdistinguishesthreekeydimensionsoflanguageuse,namely,theideational,interpersonal,andtextualdimensions.Theideationaldimensionisconcernedwiththerepresentationofexperiencesormeanings,theinterpersonaldimensionwithsocialinteractionsandrelationshipsbetweenthespeakerandtheaudience,andthetextualdimensionwiththeorganizationandstructureofthetext.LanguageClassAnalysisofEnglishResumeusingSFLThelanguageclassanalysisoftheEnglishresumeusingSFLaimstodeterminethethreedimensionsoflanguageuseoutlinedintheSFLtheory.Theideationaldimensionreferstotherepresentationofexperiencesormeaningsandincludesthelanguageusedtodescribetheapplicant'squalifications,skills,andexperiences.Theinterpersonaldimensionreferstothesocialinteractionsandrelationshipsbetweentheapplicantandtheaudience,includingthelanguageusedtoaddressandpersuadetheemployer.Thetextualdimensionreferstotheorganization,structure,andcoherenceofthetextandincludesthelanguageusedtoestablishcoherencebetweenthedifferentpartsoftheCV.AccordingtothearticlebyLiu(2017),theideationaldimensionofaCVischaracterizedbythelanguageusedtodescribetheapplicant'squalifications,skills,andexperiences.TheauthoranalyzedtheCVsoffournativespeakersofEnglishandfournon-nativespeakersofEnglish.TheanalysisshowedthatthenativespeakersofEnglishusedamorediverserangeofvocabulary,andtheirsentencesweremorecomplexandmoreextended.Incomparison,non-nativespeakersofEnglishusedsimplersentences,frequentlyreusingthesamewords.Theanalysisindicatedthatthelanguageusedintheideationaldimensionisinfluencedbytheapplicant'slinguisticbackgroundandproficiency.Similarly,thearticlebyChanandYuen(2020)examinestheideationaldimensionofaCVwrittenbynon-nativespeakersofEnglish.TheauthorsanalyzedtheCVsof40participantsandfoundthatthelanguageusedtodescribetheapplicant'squalificationsandexperienceswasnotalwaysaccurate.Theanalysisshowedthattheparticipantsfrequentlyusedvagueandambiguouslanguageanddidnotprovidesufficientdetailsregardingtheirpreviousworkexperiences.Theauthorsarguethatthisreflectstheparticipants'limitedproficiencyinEnglishandtheirunfamiliaritywiththelanguageusedinjobapplications.TheinterpersonaldimensionofaCVinvolvesthelanguageusedtoaddressandpersuadetheemployer.AccordingtothearticlebyPalomares-MonteroandFerré-Grau(2019),theinterpersonaldimensionofaCVischaracterizedbyapersuasiveapproachthataimstocapturethereader'sattentionandconvincethemoftheapplicant'ssuitabilityfortheposition.TheauthorsanalyzedtheCVsof56participantsandfoundthattheuseofpersuasivelanguagevariedaccordingtotheapplicant'sgenderandthetypeofpositionbeingappliedfor.Theanalysisshowedthatmaleapplicantsusedmoreassertiveanddirectlanguage,whereasfemaleapplicantsusedmoretentativeandindirectlanguage.Additionally,theanalysisrevealedthattheuseofpersuasivelanguagewasmoreprevalentinCVsapplyingformanagerialpositions.Lastly,thetextualdimensionofaCVinvolvestheorganization,structure,andcoherenceofthetext.AccordingtothearticlebyValero-GarcésandAlbaladejo-Mayordomo(2020),coherenceinaCVisessentialinensuringthatthereadercanquicklylocatetheinformationtheyarelookingfor.TheauthorsanalyzedtheCVsof55Spanish-speakingparticipantsandfoundthattheparticipantsfrequentlyomittedessentialinformation,suchascontactinformationoreducationalqualifications.Additionally,theanalysisshowedthattheparticipantsfrequentlyusedcomplexsentencestructures,makingitchallengingtounderstandtheCV'soverallmessage.TheauthorsarguethataCV'scoherencecanbeimprovedbysimplifyingsentencestructuresandensuringthatallimportantinformationisincluded.ConclusionInconclusion,theSFLtheoryprovidesaframeworkforanalyzingthelanguageusedinanEnglishresumeorCV.ThelanguageclassanalysisofaCVusingSFLinvolvesexaminingtheideational,interpersonal,andtextualdimensionsoflanguageuse
