DrawingandLayoutDrawingThemanufacturingdrawing,alsoreferredtoastheworkpiecedrawing,mustspecifythedimensions,tolerances,andotherrelevantparametersoftheworkpiece.Formulti-processformingoperations,inadditiontothemanufacturingdrawingofthecurrentprocess,thesemi-finishedproductdrawingofthepreviousprocessshouldalsobeprovidedandpositionedtotheleftofthecurrentprocess'smanufacturingdrawing.Forassemblydrawingsthatincludeablankingprocess,alayoutdiagram(nestingdiagram)mustbeincluded.Thewidthandtoleranceofthestripmaterial,thestepdistance,andtheknockoutallowanceshouldbeclearlyindicatedonthelayoutdiagram.Boththemanufacturingdrawingandthenestingdiagramshouldbedrawntoscale,typicallyconsistentwiththescaleofthediedrawing.Inspecialcases,thescalemaybeenlargedorreducedasnecessary.RepresentationofAssemblyDrawingofPunchingDiesGenerally,theassemblydrawingofastampingdieisrepresentedusingafrontviewandatopview.Ifadditionalclarityisrequired,otherviewsmaybeadded,typicallydrawntoa1:1scale.Thefrontviewshoulddepictthestampingdieasseenfromtheoperator'sperspectiveandisgenerallypresentedasasectionalview.Itisusuallydrawnintheclosedpositionofthedie,withthefinishedstampedpartpositionedbetweentheupperandlowerdies.Thecross-sectionistypicallycoloredredorblackforclarity.Thedraftingofthefrontviewgenerallyadherestothenationalstandardsformechanicaldrawing.However,certainindustrypracticesandspecialdraftingmethodsarealsoadopted.Forexample,instampingdiedrawings,tominimizetheuseofpartialviews,partsofthecross-sectionlineareathatdonotinterferewiththeexpressionofsectionaldetailsmayberotatedortranslatedontothesectionalview.ViewRepresentationSchemeRepresentationofAssemblyDrawingofPunchingDiesThetopviewcorrespondstothefrontviewandprovidesinformationabouttheplanararrangementofthediecomponents,thenestingmethod,andthecontourshapeofthediecavity.Inpractice,theupperdieportionistypicallyomittedinthetopview,andonlythelowerdie'svisibleportionfromaboveisrepresented.Thecontoursofthemanufacturingdrawingandthenestingdiagramaredrawnwithchain-dottedlinesonthetopview.ViewRepresentationSchemeRepresentationofAssemblyDrawingofPunchingDiesNecessarydimensionsmustbeindicatedontheassemblydrawing,suchasthecloseddiesize(ifthefrontviewshowsthedieintheopenposition,thisdimensionshouldbespecifiedinthetechnicalrequirements),theoveralldimensionsofthedie,etc.Fitdimensionsandgeometrictolerancesaregenerallynotannotated.DimensioningRepresentationofAssemblyDrawingofPunchingDiesRep
