HiringDepartmentTasks

Thehiringdepartmentassignsa“buddy”(acolleaguewhowillassistwithday-to-dayquestions)anddesignatesamentor(forlong-termcareerguidance)forthenewhire.Theyalsopreparetheworkstation(includingdesk,chair,officesupplies)andoutlinethedepartment-specifictrainingcontent(suchasteamstructure,projectworkflows,keystakeholders).

Ensurestheworkstationisfullyoperational(suchassoftwareinstallation,printeraccess).

HRhascheck-insatkeymilestones(1week,1month,3months)toassesshowthenewemployeeisadapting,addressconcerns,andprovidefeedbackchannels.Thehiringdepartmentsetsclearprobationarygoals(suchasskilldevelopment,projectcontributions)andgivesregularperformancefeedback.

Aboutoneweekbeforetheprobationperiodends,HRstartstheconfirmationprocess.Thehiringdepartmentsubmitsaperformanceevaluation,andHRreviewsittofinalizethetransitiontoformalemployment(suchascontractrenewal,salaryadjustments,benefitupgrades).
