NationalEngineeringConstructionStandardsin2004"(JianBiao[2004]NO.67),issuedby

Codeforconstructionand

MinistryofConstruction(MOC),thiscodeisamendedfromGBJ78-85

acceptanceofchimneyengineering

byChinaMCCJingtangConstructionCo.,Ltd.andrelavant

parties.

Intherevisingprocess,theeditorialstaffconscientiouslysummarizedtheexperienceregarding

tochimneydesign,construction,researchandperformance,collectedextensiveadvicefromrelevant

partiesandexpertsacrossthecountry.Afterrepeateddiscussionandmodification,theversionwas

reviewedandfinalized.

Therevisedcodecomprises15chaptersand5appendixes.Themaincontentsare:

3.0.1

Thechimneyconstructionprojectmaybedividedintounitorsub-unitworks.Thedivisionalwork

ofchimneyconstructionmaybebrokendowntofoundation,shaft,platform,corrosionresistance,and

ancillaryworksetc.Thetowerreinforcedsteelchimneymaybeseparatedintotwodivisionalworks,the

towerandshaft.Basedonthedifferentchimneytype,theshaftworkmaybedividedintoseveralsub-

divisionalworks.Whenadivisionalworkonlyincludesoneitemizedwork,theitemizedworkshallbe

definedasadivisionalwork.ThedetaileddefininationmaybeinaccordancewithTable3.0.1.

inspectionbatchesofeachdivisionalworkshallbedefinedinaccordancewiththerelevant

Thestandardsofqualifiedqualityofinspectionbatchesshallbeinaccordancewiththe

followingrequirements:

Qualityofmaincontrolitemsshallcomplywiththerelevantprovisionsofthiscode.When

thequantityforinspectionisnotnoticed,allitemsshallbefullyinspected.

2

Qualityofgeneralitemsshallbequalifiedaftersamplinginspection.Whencountinspection

isapplied,exceptforspecificrequirements,80%andmoreofthetestresultsshallmeetthe

requirementsofstandardsofqualifiedqualityofthiscode,andalsowithoutseriousdefects,orthe

maximumdeviationmustnotexceed1.2timesofthepermittedamount.

Havecompleteconstructionoperationbasis,qualityinspectionrecordsandapprovaldocuments.

3.0.4

Thestandardsofqualifiedqualityforitemizedworksshallbeinaccordancewiththe

followingrequirements:

Eachinspectionbatchofitemizedworksshallmeettherequirementsofqualifiedquality.

Qualitycontroldocumentsshallbecomplete.

Thestandardsofqualifiedqualityfordivisionalandsub-divisionalworksshallbein

accordancewiththefollowingrequirements:

Thequalityofeachitemizedworkofdivisionalandsub-divisionalworksshallbequalified

foracceptance.

qualifiedforacceptance.

Qualitycontroldocumentsshallbecomplete.

Thesafetyandfunctiontestdocumentsofeachdivisionalandsub-divisionalworksofthe

chimneyprojectshallbecomplete.

Theacceptancefortheappearancequalityshallmeettherequirements.

Whenthequalityofchimneyconstructiondoesnotmeettherequirements,itshallbe

processedaccordingtofollowingrequirements:

Inspection人人文庫batcheswithreworkedorreplacedappliances,equipmentshallbesubjectto

acceptanceagain.

TheinspectionbatchthathasbeeninspectedandidentifiedbyaqualifiedInspectionfirmto

meetthedesignrequirements,shallbeaccepted.

Theinspectionbatchnotmeetingthedesignrequirementsuponinspectionandidentificationbya

qualifiedinspectionfirm,buthasbeenapprovedbytheoriginaldesignfirmtomeetthestructuralsafety

andservicefunction,maybeaccepted.

Thedivisionaloritemizedworkswithrepairorreinforcement,havingdimensionchanged

andmeetingtherequirementsofsafeservice,maybeacceptedaccordingtotechnicalsolutionsand

agreeddocuments.

3.0.8Whentherepairedorreinforceddivisionalandunitworkscannotreachtherequirementsof

chimneysafeoperation,theacceptanceisrejected.

3.0.9Thereshallbequalifiedcertificateorperformancetestreportfortheconstructionmaterialsof

chimneyproject.Forcement,sand,stone,rebar,admixturesandacid-proofmaterial,there-

examinationreportformainpropertiesshallbesubmitted.There-examinationreportofrebarshallbe

compliedwiththerelevantprovisionsofthecurrentnationalstandardGB50205SteelConstruction

QualityAcceptance.

3.0.10

Thechimneyconstructorshallholdappropriatequalifications.Onsitequalitymanagement

shallincludeappropriateconstructiontechnicalstandards,completequalitymanagementsystem,

constructionqualitycontrolandqualityinspectionregulations.

3.0.11

Thestandardofconstructionqualitycontrolforgeneralclaybrickliningandthebrick

chimneyshell,shallbenotundertheGradeBrequirementsofthecurrentnationalstandard

CodeforAcceptanceofConstructionQualityofMasonryEngineering

GB50203.Thestandardof

constructionqualitycontrolforfirebricklining,corrosionresistanceliningofmasonryandbrick

flue,shallcomplywiththeGradeArequirementsofthecurrentnationalstandardGB50203

4Foundation

4.1EarthworkandFoundationPit

4.1.1

Whenthechimneyexcavationisready,theconstructor,jointingwiththeowner,designer

andsupervisor,shallinspecttheexcavationcentercoordinates,foundationbeddimension,elevation

andlevelness,toidentifywhetherthedesignrequirementsarereached,alsothesoiloffoundation

bedwhethersatisfiesthesoilinvestigationreportthedesignreferred.Whenitisnotsatisfied,the

owneranddesignershallproposesolutions.

4.1.2

Whentheexcavationbottomisbelowthegroundwatertable,basedonthehydrologicand

geologicalconditions,loweringanddrainageworkshallbetakenpriortotheexcavationworks.Alsothe

groundwatertableshallbemaintainedbelowthelowestelevationoftheworkingfield.Meanwhile,

measuresshallbetakentopreventsurfacewaterflowingintotheexcavation.Thecontinuedloweringor

drainageworkshallnotbeceaseduntilthefillingsoilisbackfilledabovethegroundwatertable.

4.1.3Thenaturalsoilsurfaceoftheexcavationbottomshallbeflat.Itisprohibitedtolevelitwith

filling.

4.1.4專用

Aftertheexcavationisaccepted,thefoundationconstructionworkshallcommenceinatimely

manner.Whenthereisalongerinterval,theexcavationshallbere-inspectedpriortotheconstruction.For

individualrecessingpositionsthatarebelowthedesignelevation,maybeleveledwithblindingconcrete.

Whenthebottomsoilisdisturbedorimmersedbywater,itshallbetotallyremoved,andtheblindinglayer

shallbeconstructedhighertoreachthedesignelevation.Whenthebottomsoilisseriouslydamaged,the

constructor,designerandsupervisorshalldeterminetheappropriateremedialaction.

4.1.5

Whenfoundationconstructionworkisfinished,theacceptanceandbackfillworkshallbetakenin

atimelymanner.Thefillingsoilshallbecompactedinlayers.Thecompactionfactorshallmeetthedesign

requirements.Whentherearenodesignrequirements,thecompactionfactorshallnotbelessthan0.92.

4.2ReinforcementSteelBarWorks

4.2.1

ThehookshallbeformedattheendofHPB235rebarwiththelapsplice.Thehookmay

notbenecessaryforHRB335,HRB400andRRB400rebar.Therebarhooksandtheendsoftying

wireshallbeoppositetothecover.

4.2.2

Whenthe人人文庫lapspliceisapplied,thelaplengthofrebarshallmeetthedesignrequirements.

Whenthereisnodesignspecification,thelaplengthofrebarshallbe40timesoftherebar

diameter.Whentheweldedspliceisapplied,thesplicedetailandtechnicalrequirementsshall

4.2.3

Whenthelengthofverticalrebarofcircumferentialshellisnotlongenough,itshallbewelded,

andmechanicalsplicemaybealsoapplied.Themechanicalspliceofrebarshallcomplywiththerelevant

GeneralTechnicalSpecificationforMechanical

provisionsofthecurrentnationalstandardsJGJ107

SplicingofBarsSpecificationforTaperThreadedSplicingofBars

andJGJ109.

4.2.4

Rebarspliceshallbestaggered.Atoneconnectiondivisional,thenumbersofbarswithlap

splicesshallnotbemorethan25%ofthetotalamount.Thenumbersofbarswithweldedand

mechanicalsplicesshallnotbemorethan50%ofthetotalamount.

4.2.5

Theinterdivisionalofrebarshallbesolidlytiedwithwire.Forthereinforcementmatofthe

foundationslab,exceptthetotalinterdivisionalsattwoouterrowsshallbefullysolidlytied,

interdivisionalsatthecentralareamaybetiedinastaggeredway.Butitshallbeensuredthatno

displacementfortheload-bearingrebar.

4.2.6

Theverticalrebaroftheshell,whichareinsertedintocircumferentialshell,shallbe

groupedasthedesignrequirements,alsosolidlytiedorweldedwiththefoundationrebar.

Meanwhile,preventativeactionshallbetakenfortherebardisplacement.

4.3FormWorks

4.3.1

Whenthedivisional-installationmethodisappliedfortheformsofcircumferentialshell,

eachformshallbeinstalledatthesamecone-divisionallevel.Theheightdeviationofadjacentforms

shallnotexceed5mm.

4.3.2

Thecontactsurfacebetweenformsandconcreteshallbepaintedwithreleaseagent.The

6.4.4

Withinthe10mheightsatthetopofthesinglefluechimney,andforthecircumferential

cantileverconstructedwithtwo-sideslidingformworkormasonry-insidesliding-outside

technology,limestoneshouldnotbeusedascoarseaggregate.

6.4.5

Whentheslip-formtechnologyisappliedfortheconstruction,concreteshallbeuniformly

placedinlayersalongthecircumferentialshell.Thethicknessofeachlayershouldbe250mm-

300mm.Whentheupperconcreteisplacing,theplacingdirectionshallbeshiftedsymmetrically.

Whenthemotor-driven(hydraulic)promotingformworktechnologyisappliedfortheconcrete

placing,theplacingworkmaybecommencedfromonepoint,andcircumferentiallycontinuedin

bothdirectionstilltheclosurereached.Thestartingpointoftheconcreteplacingworkfortwo

6.4.6

Whentheslip-formtechnologyisappliedfortheconstruction,thesupportingmembers,

rebarandformworksshallnotbetouchedbythevibratorwhichisforvibratingtheconcrete.The

penetratingdepthofthevibratorshallnotexceed50mmofthepreviousconcretelayer.When

6.4.7

Constructionjointsshallbereducedintheprocessoftheshellconstruction.Regardingthe

workforconstructionjoints,looserockshallberemovedatfirst,andthejointshallbecleanedand

samecomponentsoftheconcreteslurry,thenthetopconcreteshallbecontinuouslyplaced.When

6.4.8

Whenthetwo-sideslidingformworktechnologyisappliedfortheconstruction,actions

shallbetakentoensurethethicknessoftheshellandlining,andpreventtheinterpenetrationand

confusionoftheshellandliningconcrete.

6.4.9

Intheprocessofthechimneyconstruction,onegroupofconcretespecimensshallbetakenatthe

heightofevery10m.Whentheconcreteamountisgreaterthan100matthe10m,onegroupofconcrete

specimensshallbetakenatevery100m.Whenitisnecessarytotestthestrengthofotherperiodsorthe
