AresearchpaperIntroductionplaysanessentialroleofpreparingthereader’smindtofollowthepaperasitunveilstheproblem,theresearcher’sintervention,intentionsandexpectations.

Theintroductionconstituentsandsequencemajorlydependonthetypeofresearchandformatundertaken.

Purposeofthestudy:Isderivedfromthestatementoftheproblem.Itstateswhyonedecidestostudytheproblemandtheroleofhis/herresearchtosolvetheproblem.

Objectivesofthestudy:Theseconstitutethetargetsaresearcherintendstoachieve.Theyactasayardstickfortheresearchexerciseandmustbespecific,measurableandachievable.

Researchquestions:Theseareresearchguidingquestionsgeneratedfromobjectives.Theresearcherneedstoanswerthemaspartoftheinvestigation.

Hypotheses:Theseareguidingpredictionsoftheoutcomeofthestudy.Basingonresearchquestions,anassumptionderivedformexistingtheories,personalobservationsandexperienceismade.Ahypothesisprovidesatentativeanswertotheproblem,allowingforfurtherinvestigations.Hypothesesarecommonfordescriptiveandexplanatoryresearch.

Scopeofthestudy:Isexpressedintermsofageographicalarea,sayvillage,townorcity;andintermsofcontent–showingtheextentofknowledgecoverage.
