英文電影片段教學(xué)對大學(xué)低水平學(xué)習(xí)者聽力理解的影響的開題報告AbstractThepurposeofthisstudyistoexploretheeffectsofteachingEnglishmovieclipsonthelisteningcomprehensionskillsoflow-proficiencycollegestudents.Thestudyemploysaquasi-experimentaldesign,withtwogroups:anexperimentalgroupthatreceivesEnglishmovieclipteachingandacontrolgroupthatdoesnotreceiveanyEnglishmovieclipteaching.Theparticipantsinthestudyare40low-proficiencycollegestudentswhoarestudyingEnglishasasecondlanguage.Thelisteningcomprehensiontestisusedasthepre-testandpost-testtomeasuretheparticipants'listeningcomprehensionskills.ThestudyexpectstofindthattheteachingofEnglishmovieclipswouldhaveapositiveimpactonthelow-proficiencycollegestudents'listeningcomprehensionskills.Keywords:Englishmovieclipteaching,listeningcomprehensionskills,low-proficiencycollegestudentsIntroductionEnglishisagloballanguageandisusedasaprimarymeansofcommunicationinvariouscontexts,includingbusiness,science,andeducation.Consequently,Englishproficiencyhasbecomeanimportantprerequisiteforstudents'academicandcareersuccess.Englishlisteningcomprehensionisavitalcomponentoflanguageproficiencyandplaysacrucialroleinfacilitatingcommunicationinvariouscontexts.ThemajorityofEnglishlanguageteachinghasconventionallyfocusedontheuseoftextbooks,teacher-centeredinstruction,andlecture-basedlearningapproaches.Whilethesemethodscanbeeffectiveindevelopinglearners'readingandwritingabilities,theymayfallshortindevelopinglisteningcomprehensionskills.Englishmovieshaveproventobeavaluableresourcefordevelopinglearners'listeningcomprehensionskills,particularlyforlow-proficiencycollegestudents.Englishmovieclipsfeaturenaturalspeech,authenticsettings,andvariedaccents,whichcanhelplearnersdeveloptheirlisteningcomprehensionskills.PurposeoftheStudyThepurposeofthisstudyistoevaluatetheeffectsofteachingEnglishmovieclipsonlow-proficiencycollegestudents'listeningcomprehensionskills.Specifically,thestudyaimstoexamine:1.WhethertheteachingofEnglishmovieclipswouldhaveapositiveimpactonthelow-proficiencycollegestudents'listeningcomprehensionskills.2.Whetherthereisasignificantdifferenceinthepre-testandpost-testscoresbetweentheexperimentalandcontrolgroups.MethodologyParticipantsThestudywillinvolve40low-proficiencycollegestudentswhoarelearningEnglishasasecondlanguage.Theparticipantswillberandomlyassignedtoanexperimentalgroup(n=20)andacontrolgroup(n=20).InstrumentationThelisteningcomprehensiontestwillbeusedasthepre-testandpost-testinstrumenttomeasuretheparticipants'listeningcomprehensionskills.Thetestwillconsistof20multiple-choicequestions,andtheparticipantswillberequiredtolistentoaudiorecordingsofshortdialoguesandanswerthequestionsbasedonwhattheyhear.Thetestwillbedesignedtoassesstheparticipants'abilitytounderstandEnglishindifferentcontexts,rangingfromeverydayconversationstoacademicdiscourse.ProcedureThestudywillemployaquasi-experimentaldesignwithtwogroups:anexperimentalgroupandacontrolgroup.TheexperimentalgroupwillreceiveEnglishmovieclipteaching,whilethecontrolgroupwillnotreceiveanyEnglishmovieclipteaching.TheteachingmaterialwillconsistofthreeEnglishmovieclips,andeachclipwillbeapproximatelytenminuteslong.Themovieclipswillbeselectedbasedontheirrelevancetotheparticipants'languageneedsandinterests.TheteachingofEnglishmovieclipswillbeconductedforthreeweeks,withoneclipbeingtaughtperweek.Theteachingwillbeconductedintheclassroom,andtheparticipantswillbeprovidedwithworksheetsandactivitiesrelatedtothemovieclips.Theteachingwillbefollowedbyagroupdiscussion,wheretheparticipantswillbeencouragedtoexpresstheiropinionsandaskquestionsrelatedtothemoviecliptheywatched.DataAnalysisThepre-testandpost-testscoreswillbeanalyzedusingapaired-samplest-testtoexaminewhetherthereisasignificantdifferencebetweenthepre-testandpost-testscoresofboththeexperimentalandcontrolgroups.Anindependentsamplest-testwillbeusedtodetermineifthereisasignificantdifferencebetweenthepre-testandpost-testscoresbetweentheexperimentalandcontrolgroups.ExpectedResultsBasedontheliteraturereview,itisexpectedthattheteachingofEnglishmovieclipswouldhaveapositiveimpactonthelow-proficiencycollegestudents'listeningcomprehensionskills.Itisexpectedthattheexperimentalgroupwouldshowasignificantimprovementintheirpre-testandpost-testscorescomparedtothecontrolgroup.ConclusionThisstudyaimstoexploretheeffectsofteachingEnglishmovieclipsonthelisteningcomprehensionskillsoflow-proficiencycollegestudents.Thestudyemploysaquasi-experimentaldesign,withanexperimentalgroupthatreceivesEnglishmovieclipteachingandacontrolgroupthatdoesnotreceiveanyEnglishmovieclipteaching.Thestudyexpectstofindthattheteachingo
