Theauthorsconsideredeachindividual'sgeneticriskfordementiabyestimatingwhatisknown
astheirpolygenic(多基因的)risk-ameasureofallthedifferentgenesthatarerelatedtothe
riskofdementia.Theyfoundthatthereweresimilarassociationsbetweenstickingto
Mediterraneandietanddementiariskinindividualswithhigherandlowergeneticriskforthis
condition,whichmayindicatethatevenforthosewithahighergeneticrisk,havingabetterdiet
couldreducethelikelihoodofdevelopingthecondition.
