leaderofthenon-violentcivilrelightsmovementin1955.OnAugust28,1963,heledover250,000

AmericansonamarchinWashingtonD.C.tofightfortheCivilRightsLawtoguaranteeequalityforall

people,anddeliveredhisbestknownspeech“IHaveaDream"beforetheLincolnMemorial.The

"dream,'isadreamofbrotherlyloveandequalityfortheBlackandWhite.Thus,hewasawardedthe

NobelPrizeforpeacein1964,buthewasmurderedfouryearslater.

Thoughhedied,hewasgreatlyrespectedandlovedbytheAmericans,boththewhiteandtheblack.

ByvoteofCongressin1968,thethirdMondayofeveryJanuaryisnowafederalholidayinLutherKing's

honor.Helivesinpeople'sheartsforever.
