新概念英語第二冊語法知識點：cost、price與value的區(qū)別 一、cost (一)用做名詞 【詞典定義】The cost of something is the amount of money that is needed in order to buy, do, or make it. 由該定義我們能夠得知： cost作為名詞，主要表示“費用;成本”。但是，cost也所以能夠引申為“代價”的意思，此時常用于at a cost of及其變形的短語中。如： 費用：We calculated the cost of building a new house. (我們計算了造1座新房子的費用。) 成本：We have to sum up the costs of production. (我們得計算一下生產(chǎn)成本。) 代價：Im determined to attain my purpose at any cost. (我決心不惜任何代價達(dá)到目的。) (二)用作動詞 【詞典定義】If something costs a particular amount of money, you can buy, do, or make it for that amount. 由該定義能夠得知： cost作為動詞，主要表示“值多少錢;花費”，但也所以能夠引申為“使付出.代價”。如： 值多少錢：How much do the vegetables cost? (這些蔬菜怎么賣?) 花費：That car must have cost a fortune. (這輛汽車一定花了很多錢。) 使付出.代價：Her irresponsible behaviour cost her father many sleepless nights. (她那不負(fù)責(zé)任的行為使她父親很多夜不得安眠。) 二、price (一)作為名詞 【詞典定義】The price of something is the amount of money that you have to pay in order to buy it. 由該定義能夠得知： 與cost不同的是，price側(cè)重表達(dá)的是“價格;物價”。不過，price也能夠表示“代價”，而且也常用語at a price及其變形的短語中。如： 價格：I wonder why the company keeps its price so low.
