Introduction(5Minutes):

1.Beginthelessonbyaskingthestudentsiftheyhaveeverbeentoazoo.Askthemtosharewhatanimalstheysawandwhichonetheylikedthemost.

2.Checkforunderstandingbyaskingthestudentswhichanimalstheymentionedandwhatmakesthoseanimalsspecial.

3.Showtheanimalflashcardstothestudentsonebyoneandaskthemtorepeatthenamesafteryou.Then,askifanyofthestudentshaveseentheseanimalsbefore.

GuidedPractice(15Minutes):

1.Dividethestudentsintogroupsoftwoorthree.

2.Distributetheanimalflashcardstothestudents,oneforeachgroup.

3.Ontheboardorchartpaper,writethenamesoftheanimalsinlargefont.
