(1)workhard是動詞短語,意為“努力工作”。workhardtodosth.意為“努力做某事”,有時可轉(zhuǎn)化為workhardatsth.。如:Youmustworkhardtostudy/atEnglishasitissoimportant.因為英語很重要,所以你必須努力學(xué)習(xí)它。hard①作副詞,意為“努力地,辛苦地”。它用于修飾動詞,放在動詞后面。②可作形容詞,意為“堅硬的,努力的,猛烈的”,用于修飾名詞。hardly作副詞,意為“幾乎不”,表否定。如:Shehardlydoessports.她幾乎不做運動。試比較:1.Peteralwaysworksveryhard.2.Afteryearsofhardwork,shehasfinallyarrivedinherfield.3.Itisraininghard.You'dbettertakeanumbrella.4.Hisheartmustbeveryhard.5.Icanhardlyunderstandwhatyousay.副詞,努力地形容詞,努力的副詞,猛烈的形容詞,堅硬的副詞,幾乎不(2)dowell意為“表現(xiàn)出色”。dowellin意為“在……(方面)表現(xiàn)出色”,其同義短語為begoodat,反義短語為dobadlyin/beweakin。如:TomdidwellinthatEnglishtest.湯姆在那次英語考試中考得很好。5.I'mkindandI'malwaysreadytohelpothers.
(1)kind在此處用作形容詞,意為“善良的,仁慈的”,可作表語或定語。常用短語:bekindtosb.意為“對某人友好”。如:Pleasebekindtothosepatients.請對那些病人好一些。①kind還可用作可數(shù)名詞,意為“種,類”。常用短語:akindof一種;allkindsof各種各樣的;differentkindsof不同種類的。②kindness名詞,意為“善意”。(2)bereadytodosth.意為“樂于做某事,準備做某事”,相當于getreadytodosth.。如:Afterbreakfast,Iam/getreadytogotowork.早飯后,我準備去上班。
(3)others
作代詞,意為“其他的人或物體”。它單獨使用時,泛指其他的人或物;theothers特指某一范圍內(nèi)其他的人或物。others相當于“other+可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)”。常用于some...others...(一些……另一些……)結(jié)構(gòu)中。如:Somecamebycar,andotherscameonfoot.有些人是乘小汽車過來的,其他的是步行過來的。6.ChoosemeasyourclassmonitorandIpromisetohelpYOU!
(1)choose...as...意為“選舉……當……”。as在此處意為“作為,以……身份”。該短語相當于choose...for...如:TheychooseTomastheteamleader.他們選湯姆做小組領(lǐng)導(dǎo)。choose的名詞形式為choice,意為“選擇”。短語:makeachoice做出選擇。(2)promise在此處用作及物動詞,意為“許諾,答應(yīng)”,其后可接名詞、動詞不定式或that引導(dǎo)的從句等。如:Hepromisedmethebook.他答應(yīng)給我這本書。promise還可用作名詞,意為“諾言”。常用短語:makeapromise許下諾言;keepone'spromise遵守諾言;breakone'spromise食言,說話不算數(shù)。7.IwanttobethePEmonitor.
want作動詞,意為“想要”。常用短語:wanttodosth.想要做某事;wantsth.想要某物;wantsb.todosth.想要某人做某事。如:Iwanttoplaybasketballwithmydad.我想和我爸爸打籃球。MymotherwantsmetobeateacherwhenIgrowup.媽媽想讓我長大后當一名老師。8.Ienjoysport,andIcanrunreallyfast.
(1)enjoy作及物動詞,意為“喜歡”。常用短語:enjoydoingsth.意為“喜歡做某事”;enjoyoneself意為“過得愉快,玩得高興”,相當于haveagoodtime或havefun。
(2)fast作副詞,意為“快地,快速地”,常用于修飾動詞。如:Theyrunasfastastheycouldtocatchthebus.他們盡快奔跑去追趕公共汽車。fit還可作動詞,意為“適合,與……相稱”。如:Theshirtfitsyouwell.這件T恤很合你的身。9.I'mreallyfitandhealthy.
fit作形容詞,意為“健康的,強健的”。常用短語:keepfit=keephealthy保持健康。如:Keepfit,studyhardandworkwell.保持健康,努力學(xué)習(xí),好好工作。10.Justwatchmeintheplaygroundbetweenlessons!
between在此處用作介詞,意為“在……中間”,一般指兩者之間,也可用于指三者及以上的每兩者之間。常用短語:between...and...在……和……之間。如:Iamsittingbetweenmyparents.我正坐在我父母中間。among為介詞,意為“在……中間”,多用于三者或三者以上,其賓語通常是一個表示籠統(tǒng)數(shù)量或具有復(fù)數(shù)意義的名詞或代詞。如:Shesatamongthechildren.她坐在孩子們中間。11.IoftenhelpmymotherdocleaningathomeandIlikeacleanandtidyhouse.
docleaning意為“打掃衛(wèi)生”。在英語中,do后接動詞的-ing形式表示去做某事。do與動詞-ing之間還可接the或some。類似的短語還有:doshopping去購物;dofishing去釣魚;doreading去看書;docooking去做飯?!癵o+動詞-ing”也表示去做某事。如:goshopping去購物;gohiking去遠足;gofishing去釣魚;goswimming去游泳。12.I'msureeverybodywouldlikeacleanclassroom,justlikehome.(1)sure作形容詞,意為“確信的,確定的”。常用結(jié)構(gòu):besurethat...確信/肯定……besureofsth.對某事有把握;besuretodosth.確定要做某事。如:I'msureofhiswords.我確信他說的話是真的。
(2)justlike意為“正如,正像”。like在此作介詞,意為“像”,后接名詞作賓語。如:Youlookjustlikeyourfather.你看起來跟你爸爸很像。
