Flashcardswithpicturesofdifferentplaceswithintheschool.

Amapoftheschool.

Warm-up:

Showtheflashcardsofdifferentplaceswithintheschoolandaskstudentstonametheplacestheysee.

Holdashortclassroomdiscussionaboutthedifferentplacesintheschoolandtheiruses.

VocabularyIntroduction:

Introducenewvocabularyitemsrelatedtoschoolbuildingsandlocationsbyshowingpicturesonflashcardsandsayingthewordsaloud.

AskstudentstorepeatthewordsafteryouandprovidetheChinesetranslationsifnecessary.

Playagameof“SimonSays”usingthenewvocabularyitemstohelpstudentsassociatethespokenwordwiththecorrespondingpicture.

IntroducingPrepositionsofPlace:

Introducetheprepositionsofplace“on,”“in,”and“under”usinggesturesandphysicalexamplesintheclassroom.

Usetheflashcardstodemonstratethemeaningofeachpreposition,e.g.,placeaflashcardofabookonthetable,apeninthepencilcase,andaballunderthechair.

Havestudentspracticeusingtheprepositionsbyplacingobjectsindifferentlocationsaroundtheclassroomanddescribingtheirpositions.

ListeningActivity:

Showthemapoftheschoolontheboardorusealargeprintout.

Pointtodifferentlocationsonthemapanddescribetheirpositionsusingprepositionsofplace.
