-4-ChapterFourTheSignificanceofEnglishAnimationSubtitleTranslationfromthePerspectiveofAdaptationTheory4.1NewPerspectiveAnewperspectiveontranslationstudieshasopenedinChina.Filmsubtitletranslationresearchisanimportantfieldoftranslationstudies,whichfirstoriginatedintheEuropeanandAmericanfilmmarketstostarttheprocessofinternationalization.WiththecontinuousdevelopmentofthefilmindustryinEuropeandtheUnitedStates,theresearchoffilmsubtitletranslationhasreceivedsufficientattentioninEuropeanandAmericancountries,andthetheoreticalresearchoffilmsubtitletranslationhasdevelopedrapidly.However,therearefewdomesticscholarsonthesubtitletranslationofEnglishfilmsonadaptation,especiallytheresearchonspecificinternationalwritersanddirectors,whichisfarfromthecurrentdemandforhigh-qualityEnglishfilmsinChina'sfilmindustry.Allinall,theHarmonyTheoryoffersanewangleofviewforChinesetranslationofmoviesubtitle,whichisofsomesignificanceintheory.4.2CulturalExchangesLevelThelevelofanimationartandculturalexchangeshasbeenimproved.Animatedfilmsareanimportantformofcommunicationbetweenhumansociety,andChineseandWesternfilmmakersconveydifferentunderstandingsoflifetoeachotherthroughthecamera.IntheSino-foreignexchangeofanimationfilmart,animatedfilmsubtitletranslationplaysanincreasinglyimportantroleasabridge.Usingthetheoryofadaptationtostudythesubtitletranslationofanimatedfilms,taking"foreignexperience"asareference,andcultivatingagroupoftranslationteamswithdistinctivecharacteristicsoflocalizationandinternationalizationthroughpractice,notonlycandoagoodjobinEnglishfilmsubtitletranslation,butalsocanpromoteChina'sexcellentChinesefilmstotheworld,showingthecharmofChinesecultureandChinesefilmart.4.3Cross-culturalCommunicationCross-culturalcommunicationispromoted.Thebasicpropertyofsubtitlingislinguistic,whichistherelationoflinguisticandcultural.Interculturalintercourseisakindofculturecommunicationamongpersonsofdifferentcultures.TheuseofcompliancetheoryforEnglishanimationfilmsubtitletranslationprovidesanewmeansforcross-culturalcommunicationoffilmart.ThekeytoEnglishfilmsubtitletranslationistomakethetranslator'sthinkingconsistentwiththeculturalcognitiveenvironmentbetweenthetargetlanguageandthesourcelanguageintheoriginalfilm,effectivelyrealizecross-culturalcommunication,bridgethedifferencesbetweendifferentcultures,andachieve"originaltaste".4.4SplendidCultureSplendidcultureispromoted.Subtitletranslationofanimatedfilmsunderthetheoryofadaptationisactuallyaprocessinwhichthetranslatordynamicallyselectsthetranslationmethodaccordingtodifferentcontextsonthebasisofrealizingthedirector'sintentiontoconveyinformation.WhentranslatingEnglishfilmsubtitles,translatorsusecompliancetheorytomaximizetheintroductoryroleoftranslation,makingsubtitletranslationanimportantplatformforpromotingChineseculture.UseconformismtoredefineandappropriatelydefinethemeaningofthesourcelanguageinChinesecontext.WhentranslatingEnglishfilmsubtitles,translatorsshouldalwaysadheretoculturalself-confidence,startfromthestandpointofChineseculture,achievereasonableselectionandcontinuousadaptation,meettheculturalneedsandappreciationneedsofChineseaudiences,andcompletetheEnglishfilmsubtitletranslationworkwithhighquality.ChapterFiveConclusionFilmsubtitletranslationisgenerallylimitedbytimeandspaceandculturaldifferences.Firstofall,thespatiotemporallimitationisthemostprominentfeaturethatdistinguishessubtitletranslationfromothertranslationactivities.Thefilmtypeistothesubtitletranslationofafilmwhatthetexttypeistothetraditionaltranslation.Howtoreproduceahumorousandwittystyleinalimitedtimeandspaceisthebiggestdifficultyfacedbysubtitletranslators.Second,becauseofthedifferenceinlifeconditions,historicalandculturalbackground,everynationhasitsuniquefeaturesandculturaldiversity.Subtitlingshouldconsiderthispoint:"Languageisaculturalcarrier,andthesignificanceofasingletextcanbeseenasareflectionoftheculturalcontext."MoviesandTVseriesarethemediumthroughwhichtheculturalexchangebetweennationscanbetransmittedandabsorbed.Subtitletranslationisabridge,andsubtitlingisatranslationbetweentwolanguages."Inthecontextofglobalization,filmprovidesaplatformforculturalexchangesanddisseminationofdifferentpeoplesandcountries.Throughanalysis,itcanbeseenthatFrozeniswidelypraisedinChina,andsubtitlesplayahugeroleasachannelandbridgeforitsdissemination.Fromtheperspectiveofadaptation,whentranslatingEnglishfilms,itisnecessarytotakeintoaccountlanguageadaptation,culturaladaptationandsituationaladaptation,andshouldtakethenationalcultureasthebasicbasis,reasonablyselectthetranslationmethodandstrategy,andfinallypresentthefilmtotheaudienceperfectly,enhancethetargetaudience'sunderstandingofthefilmandtelevisionworks,soastomeettheneedsofbothpartiestothegreatestextent.Bycomparingandanalyzingthesubtitletranslationofthetwotexts,itisconcludedthatthecommunicationoffilmsubtitleshascross-languageandcross-culturalcharacteristics,andthetranslatorshouldclearlyunderstandthedifferencesbetweendifferentcultureswhentranslating,haveahighdegreeofcross-culturalawarenessandsenseofresponsibilit
