Introduction

ThisproductnotedescribeshowR&DengineersinthecommunicationindustryuseKeysightTechnologies,Inc.pulsegeneratorsforthedevelopmentofvideointerfacesforprojectionunits.

SeveraldatacommunicationcompaniesdevelopinterfacesbetweenLocalClockOscillators(LCOs)andvideo,TV,orcomputersforoverheadprojectionunits.Itisveryimportantforthemtostay

up-to-datewiththerapidlychangingvideointerfacesincomputers,andtohavetestequipmentthatcansimulatethesedifferentinterfaces(suchasHDTVinterfaces).Theseinterfacesvaryfrom33MHzto80MHz.

Acriticalindicatorofthequalityoftheirdesignisitssensitivitytoajitteringdistributedclocksignal,bothinfrequencyandamplitude.
