KangYu,theteacherwhotaughtthegirlhowtowritethepoem,graduatedfromRenminUniversityofChinainBeijingin2015.Soonafterhergradation,KangmovedtoatowninYunnan,andworkedasateacheratamiddleschoolthere.

Kangsaid,"Comparedwithstudentsinthecity,perhapsstudentsinthecountrysideneedawaytoexpresstheirfeelingsandbeheardmore."Supportedbytheheadmasterandotherteachers,theschoolheldeightpoetryclassesforstudentseveryyear.
