Matara,atownthatwasheavilyhitbythetsunami.Aquarterofthestudentsintheschoolhadbeendirectly

affectedbythedisaster,eitherbylosingfamilymembersortheirhomes.Theteachersweresurprisedbythe

ongoingemotionalandeducationalchallengesthestudentsfaced,likestrugglingtofocusinclassorfeelingsad

whentalkingabouttheirpastlives.

MrWavellexplainedthattheprojectwaschallenging,especiallygiventhedifficultconditionsinthearea.

However,hebelievedtheteacherswouldgetvaluableexperienceandskillsfromtheexperience.Hehopedthat
