1、歡迎進(jìn)入青海大學(xué)圖書館網(wǎng)絡(luò)資源數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)下面一起先來了解一下EBSCOhost,以及其檢索過程首先我們一起來了解EBSOhost數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù): EBSCOhost是美國(guó)EBSCO公司為數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)檢索設(shè)計(jì)的系統(tǒng),有近60個(gè)數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù),其中全文數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)10余個(gè)。 用戶進(jìn)入EBSCOhost系統(tǒng)平臺(tái)后,先要選擇檢索平臺(tái),因?yàn)橄到y(tǒng)升級(jí)后,加強(qiáng)了對(duì)商業(yè)數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)檢索功能,增加了商業(yè)檢索平臺(tái)(Business Searching Interface ,BSI)。通過這個(gè)平臺(tái),用戶可檢索和瀏覽國(guó)家經(jīng)濟(jì)報(bào)告、公司概況、工業(yè)信息和市場(chǎng)研究報(bào)告,以及雜志、圖書等文獻(xiàn)信息。這個(gè)平臺(tái)只是適用于BSP數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)。而EBSCOhost Web檢索平

It was a great contest be
5、tween myself and nature. As a young man, I started ice climbing and mountaineering in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. When I looked at photographs of glaciers in Alaska I knew I wanted to spend time there.When did you start photographing glaciers in time lapse?After being blown away by the gla
6、cial retreat I saw while shooting a National Geographic cover story, The big thaw, in 2006. The next year I created the Extreme Ice Survey, deploying time-lapse cameras to monitor retreating ice in the Arctic and mountain areas, some so remote that our team was probably the first to visit them. Temp
7、eratures could reach 40 C and the winds 150 miles per hour. We had to tackle deep snow, torrential rain and falling rocks. Off-the-shelf gear wasnt robust enough, and it took six months of experimenting to come up with a reliable time-lapse system. Right now, we have 27 such cameras at 18 glaciers i
8、n Alaska, Greenland, Iceland, the Rocky Mountains and at Mount Everest. Shooting every half-hour of daylight year-round, each one generates 8,500 frames per year. The footage provides scientists with information on the mechanics of glacial melting and gives the public evidence of how rapidly Earths

10、ea. The rate of ice loss in Greenland has doubled during the past 20 years, and this summer weve seen unprecedented rates of surface melting. We expected the Ilulissat Glacier on the west coast of Greenland to have a massive discharge of ice, so in summer 2008 two of my team members stood watch for
11、weeks. They caught the biggest calving event ever recorded on film. It was as if the entire lower tip of Manhattan had broken off and fallen into the ocean, like an urban skyline toppling, with skyscraper-sized blocks of ice submerging and resurfacing.Whats the aim of the Extreme Ice Survey?The prob
12、lem of climate change is perception. Human brains and our economic system favour the status quo. We aim to collect powerful visual evidence so that people can understand whats really happening. When satellites capture retreating glaciers from hundreds of kilometres away, the images may be beautiful
13、but theyre removed from human experience. We live on the ground.
