Sheisslowlylosinghermentalandphysicalcapabilitiesbecauseherbodyismissingavitalenzymeneededtoclearwastefrombraincells.Oneinevery250peoplecarriesthisfatalgenemutationthatispassedontoachildwhentwocarrierparentspassthegenetotheirbaby.Thecarrierratesincreaseto1in27intheAshkenaziJewish,LouisianaCajun,andFrenchCanadianpopulations.TheIrishAmericanpopulationfinds1inevery50peopletobecarriersoftheTay-Sachsgene.Atherosclerosisisadiseaseaffectingarterial
