基于目的論的景區(qū)導(dǎo)游詞英譯——以廣西民族博物館為例的中期報告Mid-termReportontheEnglishTranslationofTouristGuideSpeechesBasedonPurposeTheory-TakingGuangxiEthnicMuseumasanExampleabstract:Basedonthepurposetheory,thispaperanalyzesthecharacteristicsoftourguidespeechesandthetranslationstrategiesforculturaltourismattractingtexts,andtakestheGuangxiEthnicMuseumasanexampletostudythetranslationoftourguidespeechesinculturaltourism.ThroughtheanalysisofthetourguidespeechesoftheGuangxiEthnicMuseum,theauthorsummarizesthecharacteristicsofthetouristguidespeeches:targetedaudiences,clearobjectives,andculturalpromotion.Atthesametime,theauthorclarifiesthecommontranslationtechniquesandstrategiesinculturaltourismtranslation,focusingonthetranslationofpersuasionandculturetransmission.Finally,theauthorproposessometranslationsuggestionstoimprovethequalityoftourguidespeechesinculturaltourism,aimingtoprovidereferencesforthetranslationofculturaltourismguides.Keywords:purposetheory;culturaltourism;tourguidespeeches;translationstrategies;GuangxiEthnicMuseumIntroduction:Tourismindustryhasbeenboomingworldwide,culturaltourismhasbecomeanewhotspotinthetourismindustrybecauseofitsuniquecharm.Asanimportantpartofculturaltourismproducts,tourguidespeechesplayanimportantroleinculturaltourismattractingtexts(Wang,2019).Tourguidespeechesnotonlyprovidetouristswithinformationaboutthescenicspots,butalsoconveyculturalmessagestothem,whichmakestourguidespeechespresentuniquecharacteristicsinlinguisticexpressions.Withthein-depthdevelopmentofculturaltourism,thedemandforcross-culturalcommunicationhasbecomeincreasinglyprominent,makingthetranslationofculturaltourismproductsmoreimportantthaneverbefore.Therefore,itisnecessarytostudythetranslationoftourguidespeechesinculturaltourismfromtheperspectiveofpurposetheory,whichisoneoftheimportanttranslationtheoriesincontemporarytranslationstudies.1.CharacteristicsofTouristGuideSpeeches1.1TargetedAudiencesTourguidespeechesaregenerallycreatedtocatertoaudiencesofcertainlanguagesandcultures.Thelanguageandculturaldifferencesoftheaudiencesmustbetakenintoaccountwhenproducingtourguidespeeches.Thetourists'levelofknowledgeofthesubject,theirculturalbackgrounds,andtheirpreferencesshouldallbeconsideredbeforedesigingthespeech.1.2ClearObjectivesThepurposeoftourguidespeechesistoprovideinformationaboutthescenicspots,history,culture,andcustomstotourists.Thespeakersareexpectedtofosterasenseofcuriosityandexcitementtothetourists,andtopersuadethemtoenjoytheirstay.Theguidemustalsomaintainacertaintypeofcontroloverthegroup,ensuringtheystaytogetherandthatthetravelersarehavingagoodtime.1.3CulturalPromotionTourguidespeechesarealsomeanttoshowcasethecultureandhistoryoftheplacebeingvisited.Thishelpstouriststodeepentheirunderstandingoftheplaceandstimulatetheirinterestinthelocaltourismproduct.2.TranslationStrategiesofTouristGuideSpeeches2.1PersuasionTranslationAsthecoreaspectoftourguidespeeches,thepersuasionfactormustbeadequatelytranslated.Persuasiontranslationmethodsincludeusingappropriatelanguagefeatures,suchaspersuadingthroughrhetoricalmeans,useofmetaphor,allusions,anecdotes,andhumor.Thistypeoftranslationaimstocreateacomfortableandenjoyableenvironmentforguests,allowingthemtoimmersethemselvesintothecultureorcontextratherthanbecomingapassiveaudience.2.2CultureTransmissionTranslationCulturaltransmissiontranslationisamajorfocusintourguidespeechtranslation.Withthetranslationoftourguidespeeches,thetransmissionandpreservationofcultureismaintained.Throughtranslation,touristscandevelopadeeperunderstandingofculture,whichenhancestheirappreciationoftheplacesvisited.Toachievethis,itisnecessarytoapplytranslationtechniquessuchasliteraltranslation,adaptation,propernametranslation,andculturalannotation.3.TranslationSuggestionsInordertoimprovethequalityoftourguidespeeches,itisnecessarytotaketranslationstrategiesandcriteriaintoaccount.Thetranslatorshouldnotonlystriveforaccuratetranslations,butalsohaveathoroughunderstandingoftheculturalbackgroundofthetouristdestination.Thefollowingsuggestionsshouldbetakenintoconsideration:3.1AwarenessofCulturalDifferencesTranslatorsshouldnotneglectculturaldifferenceswhenproducingtourguidespeeches.Thelanguageusedmustbeappropriateandculturallysensitivetothetargetaudience,whileensuringthatthetoneandcontentofthespeechesisappropriateforthedestination.3.2PayingAttentiontoLiteraryBeautyTranslatorsshouldpayattentiontotheliterarybeautyoftourguidespeeches.Thisinvolvestheuseofappropriatelanguagefeaturessuchasfigurativelanguage,rhetoricaldevices,andmetaphoricalexpressions.3.3QualityAssuranceAstrictprocessshouldbeutilizedtoguaranteethequalityoftourguidespeeches.Thisinvolvesmultiplerevisionsandproofreading,whileadheringtospecificguidelines.Forinstance,thetranslatormustselectprofessionalandcoherentvocabularychoicesandavoidambiguousexpressions.Conclusion:Tourguidespeechesplayasignificantroleinculturaltourismattractingtextsandhavetheirownlinguisticcharacteristics.Itisimportantfortranslatorstohaveathoroughunderstandingofthepurposetheoryandculturalbackgroundofthedestina
