農(nóng)村學(xué)生英語成績(jī)差的原因及提升對(duì)策研究Title:AnInvestigationintotheCausesofPoorEnglishPerformanceAmongRuralStudentsandStrategiesforImprovement1.IntroductionEnglishisconsideredanessentialgloballanguage,withproficiencyinthelanguagebecomingincreasinglyimportantforindividualsinvarioussectorsandprofessions.However,manyruralstudentsinChinafacechallengesinachievingasatisfactorylevelofEnglishproficiency.ThispaperaimstoinvestigatetheunderlyingreasonsforthepoorEnglishperformanceamongruralstudentsandproposestrategiesforimprovement.2.CausesofPoorEnglishPerformanceamongRuralStudents2.1LackofAccesstoQualityEducationResourcesRuralareasoftenlackproperinfrastructure,suchaswell-equippedlibrariesandcomputerlabs,whichhindersstudents'accesstoqualityeducationalresources.LimitedaccesstoEnglish-languagebooks,onlinelearningplatforms,andlanguagelaboratoriescanimpedelanguageacquisition.2.2InadequateAvailabilityofQualifiedEnglishTeachersRuralschoolsmaystruggletoattractandretainexperiencedEnglishteachersduetovariousreasons,includinglowersalariesandlimitedjobopportunities.Asaresult,ruralstudentsmayreceivesubstandardlanguageinstruction,hinderingtheiroverallEnglishproficiency.2.3InsufficientExposuretoEnglishRuralstudentsoftenhavelimitedexposuretotheEnglishlanguageoutsidetheclassroom.English-languageenvironments,suchasEnglish-speakingcommunitiesorimmersionprograms,areusuallyabsentinruralareas.Thelackofexposurehampersstudents'abilitytopractice,developfluency,andimprovetheirlisteningandspeakingskills.2.4CulturalandMotivationalFactorsRuralstudentsmightfinditchallengingtorelatetotheEnglishlanguageduetoculturaldifferences.AlackofmotivationandtheperceptionthatEnglishisirrelevanttorurallifecanimpacttheirwillingnesstoinvesttimeandeffortinlearningthelanguage.3.StrategiesforImprovingEnglishPerformanceamongRuralStudents3.1EnhancingInfrastructureandAccesstoResourcesRuralschoolsshouldbeequippedwithmodernlearningfacilities,includinglibraries,computerlabs,andlanguagelaboratories.Furthermore,theintegrationoftechnologyinclassroomsandtheprovisionofonlinelearningplatformscanhelpbridgetheresourcegapandprovidestudentswithinteractiveandengagingEnglishlearningopportunities.3.2RecruitmentandProfessionalDevelopmentofEnglishTeachersEffortsshouldbemadetoattractandretainqualifiedEnglishteachersinruralschools.Providingcompetitivesalaries,incentives,andopportunitiesforprofessionaldevelopmentcanenhancethequalityofEnglishinstruction.Collaborationbetweenurbanandruralschools,throughteacherexchangeprograms,canalsofacilitatethesharingofbestpracticesandimprovepedagogicalskills.3.3EngagingCommunitySupportandExposureEngagingthelocalcommunitycancreateopportunitiesforstudentstopracticeEnglishoutsidetheclassroom.Localvolunteers,languagelearninginitiatives,andEnglishimmersionprogramscanprovidestudentswithexposuretoEnglishinreal-lifecontexts.Additionally,utilizingtechnologytoconnectruralstudentswithnativeEnglishspeakersforlanguagepracticecanbebeneficial.3.4CultivatingMotivationandRelevanceSchoolsandeducatorsshouldfocusonpromotingtherelevanceandimportanceofEnglishtoruralstudents.Engagingteachingapproaches,suchasincorporatinglocalcontexts,real-lifeexamples,andvocationalEnglishtraining,canincreasestudents'motivationandengagementinlearningthelanguage.4.ConclusionThepoorEnglishperformanceamongruralstudentscanbeattributedtovariousfactors,includinglimitedaccesstoeducationalresources,insufficientavailabilityofqualifiedteachers,alackofexposuretoEnglish,andculturalandmotivationalbarriers.Byimplementingstrategiesthatenhanceinfrastructure,supportteacherdevelopment,fostercommunityenga
