Inanewpaper,ColemanandhisprofessorKrishnamachariproposeamachinetranslationapproachcalled

LLM-RBMT(Rule-BasedMachineTranslation)tohelppeoplelearnno-resourcelanguages.Intheirmethod,the

LLMdoesnottranslateintoorfromOwensValleyPaiute.Instead,itgivesguidancetotherule-basedtranslators,

whichrelyongrammaticalandvocabularyrulestotranslatebetweenlanguages.

Thismethod,saidColeman,mirrorshowlanguagelearnersnaturallyspeakbymixingknownandunknown
