名詞

一?名詞的分類

(一)專有名詞表示具體的人、事物、地點(diǎn)或機(jī)構(gòu)的專有名稱。例如:

Jim吉姆MayDay五一節(jié)China中國NewYork紐約

(二)普通名詞表示一類人或東西是一個(gè)抽象概念的名稱。

1.個(gè)體名詞表示某類人或東西中的個(gè)體。例如:student學(xué)生panda熊貓pencil鉛筆

2.集體名詞表示若干個(gè)體組成的集合體。例如:class階級party黨派army軍隊(duì)group組

3.物質(zhì)名詞表示無法分為個(gè)體的實(shí)物。例如:water水fire火paper紙

4.抽象名詞表示動(dòng)作、狀態(tài)、品質(zhì)、感情等抽象概念。例如:work工作light光

二、規(guī)則內(nèi)的名詞的復(fù)數(shù)

說明詞尾的加法例詞

一般情況加-Sboots,houses

以s,x,ch,sh加-eswatches,brushes(N:stomachs)

以。結(jié)尾多數(shù)情況下加es(以輔音字母加。結(jié)尾)tomatoes,potatoes,heroes

以y結(jié)尾以輔音字母加結(jié)尾,變y為i,加esstories,factories

元音字母加y結(jié)尾,直接加stoys,boys

以f或fe結(jié)尾變f或fe為v,加esknives,wives,leaves

直接加Sroofs,beliefs,proofs

兩種方法均可handkerchiefs,handkerchieves

三.規(guī)則外的名詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式

(在表示不同種類的魚時(shí),fish可以加復(fù)數(shù)詞尾。例如:)

(四)有些名詞經(jīng)常以復(fù)數(shù)形式出現(xiàn):

socksoveralls(工裝褲)surroundings(環(huán)境)winnings(贏得物)commons平民cross—roads

有些名詞雖以-s作詞尾,卻通常作單數(shù)看待:

politicsmathematicsphysicsphoneticsnewssavings積蓄remains遺骸bellows(風(fēng)箱)

有些名詞的復(fù)數(shù)有兩個(gè)意思,一個(gè)與單數(shù)的意義相似,另一個(gè)則和單數(shù)意義不同

colour顏色colours顏色旗幟arm手臂arms手臂武器

custom習(xí)慣customs習(xí)慣海關(guān)

(五)cattlepoliceyouthmilitiapeople用作復(fù)數(shù)。

(六)復(fù)合名詞變成復(fù)數(shù)時(shí),有下列三種情況:

1.film-goers??措娪暗娜藅ooth-brushes牙刷greenhousesgo-betweensgrown-upsdrawbacks

2.在主體名詞末力口-slookers-onpassers-bysons-in-lawdaughters-in-laweditors-in-chief

3.兩個(gè)構(gòu)成部分都要變成復(fù)數(shù)。例如:mendoctorswomenworkers

(七)注意:變復(fù)數(shù)后應(yīng)濁化的五個(gè)詞的巧記:

路旁有座房(path,house)房內(nèi)有浴缸(bath)浴缸有青年(youth)青年把嘴張(mouth)

(八).不可數(shù)名詞數(shù)及數(shù)量表示法(物質(zhì)名詞和抽象名詞)

1.不可數(shù)名詞物質(zhì)名詞和抽象名詞屬于不可.數(shù)名詞如:water,rice,fish,meat等。

woodinformationnewsmedicine2.一般用單數(shù)形式。但物質(zhì)名詞在表示不同類別時(shí),M以用復(fù)數(shù);

有些物質(zhì)名詞的單、復(fù)數(shù)表示不同意義;有些物質(zhì)名詞有時(shí)不可數(shù),有時(shí)可數(shù),其意義有所不同;有些抽

象名詞也可用復(fù)數(shù),指可數(shù)的具體事物;而有些抽象名詞復(fù)數(shù)形式時(shí),表示別的意義。

tea茶——teas各種茶steel鋼一steels各種鋼snow雪…snows積雪fish(魚)fishes(各種魚)fruit(水

果)fruits(各種水果)room(空間)-aroom(房間)sand沙…sands沙灘water水一waters江水,海水

green綠色一greens青菜paper紙一apaper一張報(bào)紙,一份文件hair(所有頭發(fā))-hairs(兒根頭發(fā))

glass玻璃一aglass一只玻璃杯fire火afire一堆火hopehopes希望time時(shí)間…times時(shí)代

work工作—works著作iron鐵——aniron一個(gè)熨斗

3.物質(zhì)名詞在表示數(shù)量時(shí),常用表示數(shù)量的of詞組來表示。

4.專有名詞一般只用單數(shù),但有時(shí)也可用復(fù)數(shù)。例如:

theWangs王家全家人TherearefourLiusinourclass.我們班有四個(gè)姓劉的。

四、所有格的構(gòu)成方法,在名詞后加如:Tom一Tomy…的",若遇上以s結(jié)尾的復(fù)數(shù)名詞,則在s后加

即可。如:Teachers'Day,twoweeks'holiday,而不以s結(jié)尾的復(fù)數(shù)名詞的所有格,仍按慣例加's。如:Children's

Day

五、名詞所有格應(yīng)注意的地方

1,并列名詞各自的所有格,在每個(gè)名詞后加《

John'sandMary'smothers(二人各自的母親)如果是親兄妹,寫成JohnandMary'smother

2,習(xí)慣上也用于某些表示時(shí)間、團(tuán)體、城鎮(zhèn)、國家、太陽、月亮、地球、距離等無生命名詞。例如:today飛

newspaperourParty'sstandBeijing'sweatherChina'scapitaltenminutes'walkthemoon'slight

3,名詞所有格修飾的名詞,如果上文提到過,可以省略;表示某人的家、商店等時(shí),被所有格修飾的名詞,

也不常出現(xiàn)??捎妹~所有格表示地點(diǎn)。如:myaunt's我姑姑家。gotothedoctor's去醫(yī)生家。

Thisisnotmypen,butXiaoLi's.I'mgoingtomyuncle's(house)fordinner.

4,凡不能在詞尾加,s的名詞,都可以用of構(gòu)成短語,表示所有關(guān)系。此外,of所有格能表示同位關(guān)系,'s

所有格則不能。Shedoesn'tliveinthecityofBeijing.

5,雙重所有格of所有格和飛所有格兩種形式結(jié)合而成的后置修飾語,叫做雙重所有格。

(1)用作of賓格的所有格名詞,一般是人,必須是特指的。

severalstudentsofLaoHu'sThatdictionaryoftheteachers?

(2)of前的名詞可以和a,any,some,no,few,two等數(shù)量詞連用,但不能和one,the

連用:可以和指示代詞this,that連用,表示愛憎等情緒。

Afriendofmybrother'swillcometojoinus.Thatlittledaughterofyoursister'sisreallyadear.

(3)雙重所有格與of.所有格的不同含義:

aphotoofMrGreen,s格林先生收藏的一張照片aphotoofMrGreen格林先生的相片

六、.名詞作定語時(shí)一般用單數(shù)形式,但在個(gè)別情況下也有需用復(fù)數(shù)的。

1.人稱代詞作主語時(shí)用主格,作賓語時(shí)用賓格

2.在強(qiáng)調(diào)句中,亦可用賓格代替主格。Itwasmethatdidit.(=ItwasIthatdidit.)

在比較狀語從句中(as.Than)口語中常用賓格,書面語常用主格。Emfatterthanhim.

Whoisit?It'sme.(作表語)I'dliketohavearest.—Me,too.(自由對話)

3.人稱代詞在并列使用時(shí)的順序?yàn)椤暗诙朔Q,第三人稱,第一人稱”

You,sheandIallenjoythemusic.你我她都喜歡音樂。

4.it作為人稱代詞時(shí),可以表示天氣、距離、時(shí)間、環(huán)境等

What'theweatherliketoday?-It'swindy.

It'saboutfiveminutes'walkfromhometoschool.

5.it可作為形式主語,將不定式、動(dòng)名詞等構(gòu)成的主語后移,使句子顯得平穩(wěn)

It'shardtoreachtheapples.It'sgoodforyoutakingawalkaftersupper.

6.一般說來,在指代身份或性別明確的人時(shí),通常要根據(jù)情況用代詞he/she;若是指代身份或性別不明的人,

則用代詞it:在對話中說話者對所涉及的人不了解.甚至趁男記女也不了解,比如有人敲門,或打電話時(shí),只聞其聲不

見其人,常用it來指代不清楚的人.

Idon'tknowwhoitis.我不知道那是誰。

Atallmanstoodupandshookhandswithher.Itwasthegeneralmanager.?個(gè)高個(gè)子站起來同她握了手,他是總經(jīng)

理。

6.We,you與第三人稱代詞特殊用法

1),we用來泛指一般人,相當(dāng)于people或you,theyandI,常譯為“人(們)”,常含自己在內(nèi)。

Wehaveshortcomingsaswellasgoodpoints.人們總是既有優(yōu)點(diǎn),也有缺點(diǎn)。

2),you在大多數(shù)情況下可以同。ne通用,常譯為“人們”、“任何人”

Youeattoliveandnotlivetoeat.Youhavetobecarefulwithpeopleyoudon'tknow.

3),第三人稱代詞的特殊用法they可以用來指“人們”“有人”“人家”

Theysaytherearelivingthingsonthemoon.

He可僅用來泛指“任何人”,相當(dāng)于one.Hewhoplayswithfiregetsburnt.

she可以用來代表國家、船只、大地、月亮等

Weloveourmotherland,wehopeshe'llbestrongerandbigger.

Theshipisleaving.She'sonherfirsttriptoBoston.

It可以用來指代小孩。心目中想的或上下文提及的人,若再次提到這個(gè)人時(shí)

就得用he/she。It可以用來代替人的不定代詞(somebody,someone...)

Thechildsmiledwhenitsawitsmother.

Whoistheperson?■一It'smyfriend,TomMaybeheiscomingtoaskforme.

Somebodyhasbeenhere.Butwehavenoideawhoitwas.

二、物主代詞PossessivePronouns

1.形容詞性物主代詞在句中只能作定語Mybrotherisaworker.

2.名詞性物主代詞在句中可作表語、主語和賓語

Ourroomisbigandtheirsissmall.Youmayusemypen.Tilusehers.

3.形容詞性物主代詞+名詞=名詞性物主代詞

Thesebooksaren'tours.Oursarenew.(ourbooks=ours)

4.“of+名詞性物主代詞”表示所屬

Asisterofhisisanurse.他的一個(gè)妹妹是個(gè)護(hù)士。Tomisafriendofmine我的一個(gè)朋友

三、反身代詞單數(shù)myselfyourselfhimselfherselfitself

復(fù)數(shù)ourselvesyourselvesthemselves

1.反身代詞在句中可以作賓語、表語和同位語

Hethinksmoreofothersthanofhimself.Thatpoorboywasmyself.Hehimselfwasadoctor.

2.反身代詞有以下常見搭配enjoyoneself=haveagoodtime

byoneself=alonehelponeselfto...learnsth.byoneself=teachoneselfsth.

注意:oneself有單復(fù)數(shù)之分Ienjoymyself.Children,helpyourselvestosomefish.

Fmnotquitemyselftoday.我今天不大舒服。Makeyourselfathome.不要拘禮;請隨便吧。

3.反身代詞作介詞的賓語也常用于一些慣用語組中。例如:

byoneself獨(dú)自地、自動(dòng)地Thisisamachinethatworksbyitself.這是一部自動(dòng)化的機(jī)器。

ofoneself啟動(dòng)地、自然而然地Thediseasewillnotdieofhimself.疾病不會自然消亡。

foroneself為自己、親自地Shefeltsorryforherself.她為自己感到難過。

inoneself本性、本身Itisnotabadideainitself.這主意本身不錯(cuò)。

tooneself獨(dú)占、獨(dú)有HowIwishtohaveahousetomyself!多么希望能獨(dú)有自己的房子呀!

besideoneself精神失常、發(fā)狂Hewasbesidehimselfwithjoy.他欣喜若狂。

aboveoneself自高自大He'sbitabovehimselfnow.他現(xiàn)在有點(diǎn)自視過高

四、不定代詞不是指明代替特定名詞(或形容詞)的代詞

all,each,every,both,either,neithernone,one,little,few,many,muchother,another,some,any,no由some,

any,no,every等構(gòu)成的合成代詞

幾組在用法上容易混淆的不定代詞

1.some/any2.many/much3.another/other4.theother/others/theothers5.few/afew/little/alittle

6.every/each7.any/none/all(表三者或三者以上范圍)8.both/either/neither

9.Something/anything/nothingSomebody/anybody/nobody

10.noone/nobody/none/nothing

noone,nobody表沒有人,nothing指沒有什么事物,none兼指人和物。

none著眼于數(shù)量概念?!碧刂傅娜嘶蛭镆粋€(gè)也沒有,一點(diǎn)兒也沒有”。

--Howmanypeoplearethereinthehall?--None.(回答howmany)

--whowantstogowithhim?--Noone(Nobody).(回答who)

——Whatcanyouseeinthebottle?——Nothing.(回答what)

——Isthereanywaterinit?——None.

陳述部分主語是指示代詞或不定代詞everything,that,nothing,this,疑問部分主語用it。

陳述部分主語是不定代詞everybody,anyone,somebody,nobody,noone,everyone等:,疑問部分常用復(fù)數(shù)they,有

時(shí)也用單數(shù)heNobodyknowsaboutit,dothey?(doeshe?)

Everyoneknowstheanswer,don'tthey?(doeshe?)Noonewashurtintheaccident,werethey?

五、指示代詞表示空間和時(shí)間遠(yuǎn)近關(guān)系的代詞包括:this/thal(單數(shù))these/those(復(fù)數(shù))such

1.that,those常用來指代前面提到過的某個(gè)名詞。

Theoiloutputin1998washigherthanthatof1995.(that代替oiloutput)

ThecarsmadeinJapanarebetterthanthoseinGermany.

2.this和that有時(shí)還可以用作副詞,表示程度。

Icanonlypromiseyouthismuch.我只能答應(yīng)你這么多。Ican'twalkthatfar.

such

such引起倒裝句,謂語數(shù)取決丁后面主語的數(shù)Suchismyanswer.Suchareourpeople.

做定語,注意和so的區(qū)別,尤其是在so…that,such...that句型中。

1haveneverseensuchbeautifulflowers.(復(fù)數(shù)名詞前,so不可)

1haveneverseensuchagreatfilm.(也可為sogreatafilm)

Wehavesuchbeautifulweathertodaythatweshouldgooutforanouting.(不可數(shù)詞前,不可用so)

(在數(shù)量概念的多少many,much,little,few之前,不可用such只能用so,否則用such
