Chinarailway,especiallyitshigh_x001E_speedrailway,isexperiencingmushroomgrowth.TrainhasbeenoneofthefavoritemeansoftransportformostChinesepeopleatpresent.Nearly2.8billionrailwaypassengertripsweremadethroughoutChinain2016,andthenumberhasbeengrowingatarateofabout10%annuallyinrecentyears.Generallyspeaking,Chinarailwayindustryhasgonethroughthreestagesofdevelopment.ThefirststagewasfromthelateQingperiodto1948whenonlyafewrailwayswerebuiltandinuse.ItwasregrettablethattheintroductionofrailwaystoChinawasstronglyrejectedbytheQinggovernment.Atthattime,therailwaywasconsideredasaschemethatwoulddestroythemilitarydefense,farmlandsandFengShuioftheQingEmpire.In1876,thefirstrailwayinChina,WusongRailway,wasputintooperationwithoutthepermissionoftheQinggovernment.Sincethen,severalrailwayswerebuiltinChina,butmostofthemwereconstructedandcontrolledbyWesternpowers.SectionD:ExpandingViewChinaRailway

Thesecondstagewasfrom1949to2008,andlarge_x001E_scaleconstructionwascharacteristicofthisstage.SincethefoundingofthePeople’sRepublicofChina,thecountrybegantoconstructrailwaysanddeveloprailwayindustryinaplannedway.Inthisperiod,alargenumberofoldlineshadbeenrestoredandimproved,andlotsofnewlineshadbeenbuilt.Consequently,China’srailroadnetworkhadbeenformedandexpandedrapidly.Thethirdstagebeganin2008,whichmarkedtheadventoftheeraofhigh_x001E_speedrailway.High_x001E_speedlinesweregraduallyreplacingoldbusyordinary_x001E_speedlines,greatlyincreasingtransportcapacityandmakingtraintravelmucheasierthanbefore.In2017,FuxingtrainsstartedtorunbetweenBeijingandShanghaiataspeedof350km/h,whichmadethemtheworld’sfastestcommercialhigh_x001E_speedtrains.Wordsandphrases
