NearbyistheIndianapolisracecourse,wherethenation'smostfamouscar
raceisheldeachyearonMay30lh.

...Bakerconcludesthatpeopledonothavetheabilitytosensewhenthey,rebeingstaredat.Ifpeopledoubttheout。
ofhistwoexperiments,saidBaker,'1suggesttheyrepeattheexperimentsandseefbrthemselves.''...
70.Theunderlinedword"oute"inthelastparagraphmostprobablymeans.
A.valueB.result
C.performanceD.connection
統(tǒng)稱(chēng)在詞或短語(yǔ)之間有并列連詞and或or,這些詞語(yǔ)或短語(yǔ)在句中作相同的成分,并且and或。
...Fermat'sLastTheorem(定理),「irslputforwardbytheFrenchmathematicianPierredeFermatintheseventeenth
century,thetheoremhadbaffledandbeatenthefinestmathematicalminds,includingaFrenchwomanscientistswho

65.Whichofthefollowingbestexplainsthemeaningoftheword“bafTle''asitisusedinthetext?
A.Toencouragepeopletoraisequestions.
B.Tocausedifficultyinunderstanding.
C.Toprovideapersonwithanexplanation.
D.Tolimitpeople'simagination.
...Achild'sbirthdaypartydoesn'thavetobeahassle;itcanbeabasketoffun,accordingtoBethAnaclerio,an
Evasionmotheroftwo,ages4and18months....
74.Whatdoestheunderlinedword"hassle”probablymean?
A.Apartydesignedbyspecialists.
B.Aplanrequiringcareful(houghl.
C.Asituationcausingdifficultyortrouble.
D.Ademandmadebyguests.
WouldyouBETonthefutureofthisman?Heis53yearsold.Mostofhisadultlifehasbeenalosingstruggleagainst
debtandmisfortune.Awarinjuryhasmadehislefthandstopfunctioning,andhehasoftenbeeninprison.Drivenby

答案為A。
though,although,
still,but,yet,instead,insteadof,however,while,onthecontrary,ontheotherhand,unlike,ratherthan.Ibronething,for
...Howeverobviousthesefactsmayappearatfirstglance,theyareactuallynotsoobviousastheyseemexcept
whenwctakespecialpainslothinkaboutthesubject.
71.InParagraph3,“takespecialpains”probablymeans"
A.tryveryhardB.takeourtime
C.areveryunhappyD.feelespeciallypainful
【答案析】A
…"IwasonthewaytoapersonalinjuryaccidentinWestNashville.AsIgotontoHighway40、bluelightsand
sirens(警笛)going,IfellinbehindagoldPontiacFirebirdthatsuddenlyseemedtotakeoffquicklydownthehighway.

63.Themeaningof“Danicked”inParagraph2isrelatedto.
A.shameB.haleC.angerD.fear
