SUMMARY

TwodifferenttypesoflicensingframeworksareavailableforoperatingtheRocPro3Dsoftware:

Standalonelicense

Inthisscheme,boththeRocPro3Dsoftwareanditslicenseareinstalledonauniqueworkstation,andthislicenseislockedtothisworkstation(thistypeoflicenseisalsocalleda"machinelicense"or"hardwarelicense").

Anyuserloggedontothatworkstationwillthenbeabletorunthesoftwarefromthatworkstation.

Floatinglicense

Inthisscheme,bothanetworklicensemanagementsystemandaconcurrentusermanagementsystemareinstalledonaserver(server-side)andlockedtothatserver.TheRocPro3Dsoftwareistheninstalledonanynumberofclientworkstations(client-side),eachofwhichisproperlyconnectedtothelicenseserver.

Anyuserloggedontoaclientworkstationwillthenbeabletorunthesoftwarethroughthelicensemanagementofthelicenseserver,providedthatthenumberofconnectedusersdoesnotexceedthenumberoftokens(allowedusers).

Beforestartingtheinstallation,youmustbesureofthetypeoflicenseyouhavepurchasedinordertoinstallthecorrectlicense.Thisdocumentprovidestheprocedure(withtherequireddetails)tosuccessfullyinstalltheRocPro3Dsoftwareforbothlicenseschemes.

Aboutusingtheroamingutility

TheRoamingutilityallowseachusertocheckout(orborrow)alicensefromandreturnittotheNetKeyLicenseServer(NKLS).Theusercanspecifythedesiredborrowingperiod,uptoamaximumperiod.Then,theusercandisconnectitsworkstationfromthenetworkandtemporarilyusetheapplicationoff-site.

Notethat:

Duringtheborrowingperiod,iftheuserrunstheapplicationandhasaccesstotheNKLS,theroaminglicenseisrestartedautomatically.Inotherwords,anewborrowingperiodisextended.Thishelpstofacilitatecommuteruserswhoneedtousetheapplicationbetweenon/off-site,home/office,etc.

Attheendoftheborrowingperiod,theroaminglicenseisautomaticallyreturnedtotheNKLS,eveniftheuserisstilldisconnectedfromtheNKLS.
