Structure: preposition place.2.Ability Objects: Train students; of comprehension ,speaking and listening reading and writing .3.Moral Objects :a. To help students realize the importance of cooperation .b. To enable students to ask and give direction in daily life .Teaching Key Points:1.Key vocabulary in this period .2.Target language in this period .Teaching Difficult Points 1.Improve students listening .2.Make conversations freely.Teaching Methods1. Listening and speaking methods.2. Pairwork .3. Review method.Teaching Aids 1.A computer for multimedia use .2.some maps of Dean Roads.3. A tape recorder.Teaching ProceduresStep1 Greeting and Revision .(about 5 minutes )1.Greet the class as usual and check the homework.2.Make a report .ask 2 students to come to the stage and make a report with the title of “Where is my home ?A:Hi, Yu Jiayi,are you free on Sunday morning ?B:Yes,Ican .A:Thats great, can you come to my home to play computer games with me on Sunday morning ?B:Thats sounds great.But I dont know the way to your home.A:Well , lets me tell you .B:Is there a hotel near your home?A:Yes,there is .There is a Jiari Hotel .It is in front of the school .There is a supermarket ,too.A:its between my home and the Dongfangguojji B:Is there a store around your home ?A:Yes , there is , There is a computer store next to the Dongfangguojji.B:OK,I see .See you on Sunday morning .A:see you !Object:to review the words we have learned last class (in front of ,across from, between and ,next to .,behind )by doing this activity . Step 2 1a (about 10 minutes )After reviewing ,lets learn the new words together :go along ;turn right; turn left; on the right ;on the left .Then lets finish the activity in 1a together .a. T:Turn to page 46 and look at picture of 1a and the words above it .Match the words with the pictures .Ill give you several minutes to finish the activity.b. Look at the picture on ppt and then try to make your own sentences by using the words :on the right and on the left .c. Find the places by looking at the map on ppt :read the short paragraphs and try to find these places on the map .d. Let play a little game: Students find homes for these buildings(建筑物).The teacher give the directions ,another student follow the direction lets find out who did the right actions (誰(shuí)做的對(duì))Object:Make students be more familiar with the news words by relating to the pictures ,maps ,sentences and games.Step3 1bListening practice (about 5minutes)Teacher creature a context for students :Ask students to look at the picture and say :”This is my friend Amy ,shes from America, she is in Dean train station now ,but she is new in town ,she wants to go to some places ,lets listen carefully and find these 2 places that Amy wants to go ”(play the recording for 2 times ,for the first time ,students only listen ,for the second time, say, this time finish the exercise )After finishing the activity, ask someone to share the answer ,and then check the answerObject: train students listening skills by creating a context Step 4 1c listening practice (Listen again and fill in the blanks about 10minutes)T:Now Amy wants to go the 2 places we just have listened ,can you tell Amy how she can get to these 2 places .(play the recording for 2 times ,for the first time ,students only listen ,for the second time, say, this time finish the exercise )After finishing the activity, ask someone to share the answer ,and then check the answerObject: train students listening skills by creating a context Step 5 1d Pair work .(about 10minutes)Students look at the map and talk about the topic: show Amy the way to from Yayue Hotel to Dean No.1 middle school .you may use the words :1 Turn right 2.Turn left 3.Go along .4.on your left/right 5 at the crossing.Students may help Amy to Dean No.1 middle school by talking about more than one ways .Object: Improve students ability of making their own conversation.Step 6 Summary and homework.(about 5 minutes)This class weve had a lot of practice in listening ,speaking ,reading and writing to practice target language , now we need to practice our wring by using the target language .please read a letter from my friend Amy Dear Jane : Thank you so much for the map ,your school is so beautiful .With your help , I enjoyed reading in your library and I also had lunch in your school dinning hall ,And I had great fun in your school playground .This week , I want to visit Yuanhe cinema(電影院)please write to me and show me the way (路).Thanks a lot . and then write a letter to Amy and tell her the way to Yuanhe cinema .Blackboard Design: Is there a post office near here ?The Third period (Section B 1a-2a)New vocabulary: Turn right;
