Guidelines

on

Food

Contact

Materials

(FCM)has

been

undertaken

by

the

Prepared

Foodstuff

Product

Working

Group

(PFPWG)established

by

the

ASEAN

Consultative

Committee

for

Standards

and

Quality(ACCSQ).The

document

is

endorsed

by

the

26th

Meeting

of

PFPWG

(April

2018)

andprovides

general

guidelines

for

FCM

while

speci?c

requirements

will

be

developed

inseparatedocuments.To

support

the

implementation

of

the

ASEAN

General

Guidelines

on

FCM,

PFPWGhas

also

developed

the

ASEAN

Guidelines

for

Good

Manufacturing

Practice

for

FoodContact

Materials

(GMP

for

FCM).

The

document

is

endorsed

by

the

29th

Meeting

ofPFPWG(November2019)andprovidesguidelinesforGMP

forFCMtoensurethatallFCMshallbemanufacturedincompliancewithGMP.TheASEAN

Guidelines

on

Speci?c

Measures

for

CeramicArticles

Intended

to

elaborated

as

part

of

the

development

of

speci?cmeasures

for

groups

of

FCM

as

listed

in

the

Annex

OBJECTIVEThis

document

is

intended

primarily

for

use

by

competent

authorities

and

manufacturersto

ensure

production

of

safe

ceramic

articles.

This

document

also

provides

guidanceon

traceability

system

to

assist

all

relevant

business

operators

to

identify

and

controlthe

key

parameters

determining

compliance

of

ceramic

articles

with

the

relevantrequirements,

thereby

protecting

consumers

and

facilitating

trade

among

ASEANMemberStates.SECTION3

SCOPEThisdocumentappliestoceramicarticlesintheir?nishedstatethat:???Areintendedtobebroughtintocontactwithfood;orArealreadyincontactwithfoodandwereintendedforthatpurpose;orCan

reasonably

be

expected

to

be

brought

into

contact

with

food

or

to

kitchenware

articles

glass

enamelled

articles

not

Compliance

should

issued

accordance

with

Section

theASEANGeneralGuidelinesonFCMandthe

AnnextotheseGuidelines.SECTION9

TRACEABILITYThe

traceability

of

ceramic

articles

should

be

made

in

accordance

with

the

provisionsofSection9ofthe

ASEANGeneralGuidelinesonFoodContactMaterials.Traceabilityshouldbeginatthepointinwhichtheceramicarticleismanufacturedwiththe

intention

of

being

used

in

food

contact

applications,

and

the

articles

shall

be

traceduptotheretailingstage.SECTION10

INSPECTION

ANDCONTROL

MEASURESInspection

of

ceramic

articles,

and

control

that

the

provisions

established

underSections

5,

6

and

7

above

are

ful?lled

fall

under

the

responsibility

of

the

CompetentAuthorities

of

each

ASEAN

Member

State.

Inspection

and

control

should

made

in

accordance

with
