2)InstructSstoconcludethestructureoftheadverbialclauseofpurposeandtheadverbialclauseofreasonfromthefollowing:

原因狀語從句:

原因狀語從句表原因,引導原因狀語從句的連詞有because,since,as,for等。

a.because的語氣最強烈,引導的從句一般不放在句子的開頭。例如:Ididn’ttellhimthetruthbecausehewastooyoung.

以why開頭的問句,一般只能用because引導的從句來回答。

b.since的語氣比because弱,表示人們已知的事實,不需要強調原因,因此常譯作“既然......”,通常放在句首。since引導的從句是次要的,重點強調主句的內容。例如:Sincethismethoddoesn’twork,let’stryanother.

c.as語氣更弱,所引出的理由在說話人看來已經很明顯,或者已為聽話人熟悉。as引導的從句常放在主句之前,與主句具有同等的重要性。例如:Asshewasnotwell,Idecidedtoclimbmountainswithouther.

d.for表示所說的理由是一種補充說明,一般不放在句子的開頭。例如:Idecidedtodrinksomewater,forIwasfeelingverythirsty.

結果狀語從句:

結果狀語從句的從句部分是補充說明主句中謂語動詞發(fā)生的結果的,通常位于主句之后。sothat引導結果狀語從句,意為“結果是;以至于"。例如:HesatbehindmesothatIdidn’tseehim.

另外sothat也可以引導目的狀語從句,意為:“為了,以便于”。例如:ImustgetupearlysothatIcancatchthefirsttrain.
