ZhejiangProvince.Manybuildingsonthecampusarehisoriginalcreations.
ThestyleofthecampusisquitedifferentfromthatofmostChineseuniversities.Many
visitorswereamazedbythecomplexarchitecturalspaceandabundantbuildingtypes.The
curves(曲線)ofthebuildingsperfectlymatchtheriseandfallofhills,formingauniqueview.
Wangcollectedmorethan7millionabandonedbricksofdifferentages.Heaskedthe
workerstousetraditionaltechniquestomakethebricksintowalls,roofsandcorridors.This
creationattractedalotofattentionthankstoitsmixtureofmodernandtraditionalChinese
elements(元素).
Wang'sworksshowadeepunderstandingofmodernarchitectureandagood
knowledgeoftraditions.Throughsuchabalance,hehadcreatedanewtypeofChinese
architecture,saidTadaoAndo,thewinnerofthe1995PritzkerPrize.
Wangbelievestraditionsshouldnotbesealedinglassboxesatmuseums.nThatisonly
