1、 Unit One Lesson1 Choosing a Flat. (第1課時)一、教學目標: 1. Review the Comparatives and Superlatives of adjectives and adverbs;2. Talk about flats; 3. Learn the new modal verb; 二、教學重點與難點: Understand and use should” according to different context correctly. 三、敎前準備: Textbook, students book, a recorder and a c
2、omputer;四、教學過程: Step1: Teachers activities: Show some pictures of flats and ask questions :How many rooms are there in your flat? What are they? How big is your flat? Students answer them and remember new words. (flat,kitchen,bathroom,dining room,square-meter and so on)Step2: Teachers activities:Ask
3、 students to read the plans of the three flats and then answer the questions: Which flat is the biggest of the three? Which flat has the largest sitting room? How large is it? The students answer and talk with each other.Teaching aims: Review some modal verbs and let the students learn and understan
4、d the new one: shouldStep3: Teachers activities: Which flat do you like best? Why? Students answer it. Step4: Teachers activities:Quick responses on some modal verbs :( can, may, must, need): I cant find my pen. May I use your pen? Can you speak loudly in the reading room? Can you get to school at 8
5、 oclock? Must we keep our classroom clean? Need you do exercises every day? Students activities: 1. Answer these questions. 2. Translate sentences on Page 5 and try to understand the meaning of the word: should. Teaching Aims; Review some modal verbs and let the students learn and understand the new
6、 one: should.五、 Homework: 1. Copy the new words. 2. Pair work with your partners to talk about your flat.3. How many people are there in the picture? Who are they? What are they doing? What

Teaching Aims: To let the students understand the text by questions.Step2: Teachers Activities: Play the tape of the text. Ask some questions, let the students c
9、omplete the exercise. Students Activities: Listen to the Tape, then do Comprehension Check on the Text: Listen to the tape again, and then answer the following questions: How large is the Wangs flat? How many bedrooms do they need? What kind of flat does Wang Qiang want? Who thinks public transport
10、is more important? Whats Mrs Wangs opinion? Why does Wang Qiang want their flat in a high-rise? What are they going to do this weekend? Teaching Aims; To let the students understand the text by questions.Step3: Teachers activities: Let them imitate and repeat the whole text in roles. Let them summar
11、ize the useful phrases by themselves. Students Activities: Read the text in groups, then find the useful phrases. Show four pictures: a park, a classroom, a cafeteria, a street.
16、 divide the class into groups of four. Ask the students to make sentences with should and shouldnt according ti the given pictures. Let the students have a competition: to see which group can make more sentences.Students activities: Use the picture cues and make sentences with should/shouldnt. Have
17、a competition with other groups by making more sentences. Teaching Aims: To get students to know how to use the modal verb: should. To stimulate talking to cultivate the students ability to make sentences.Step2: Free talk: What do we need to do before moving to a new flat? Ask them to talk about the
18、 picture of the passage on page 9. Students activities: Talk about the topic on: Moving to a new flat. Describe the picture on page9.Step3: Give them some True or false finish when reading the passage on page 8-9 and check the answers. Let them read the passage fluently and correctly. Let them find some useful phrases and sentences. Explain the language points. Students activities: Read the passage and then decide if the statements are true or false. Read t
