This is why every college-level student must study abroad during their undergraduate years. They will learn more in that semester abroad than in any other academic year.According to

Not only does this strike up a memorable conversation, but it also demonstrates a students fierce independence and determin
5、ation. All this makes someone who has studied abroad a more desirable candidate for their dream job. As if IES Abroads statistic above was not astounding enough, it has been proven that 97% of students who study abroad find employment within 12 months of graduation.Beyond college, students who study
6、 abroad will be better equipped to succeed in the workplace. Their broadened worldview will help them cooperate with their co-workers better, especially in a worldwide organization. This increased scope of knowledge allows 25% of students who study abroad to receive higher starting salaries. That is
7、 clear evidence that their experiences and views are valued by employers.In spite of all these benefits, some parents simply will not allow their children to study abroad. A portion will argue that it is not safe. Others will argue that studying abroad costs too much money. However, studying abroad
8、will have long-lasting, positive implications on a students future as an academic and a professional. 11、laps and then hit a softball. I didnt do either well. He later informed me that I was not athletic.The idea that I was not athletic stuck with me for years. When I started running in my 30s, I realized running was a battle against myself, not about competition or whether or not I was athletic. It wa
12、s all about the battle against my own body and mind. A test of wills!The night before my marathon, I dreamt that I couldnt even find the finish line. I woke up sweating and nervous, but ready to prove something to myself.Shortly after crossing the start line, my shoe laces became untied. So I stoppe
13、d to readjust. Not the start I wanted!At mile 3, I passed a sign: GO FOR IT, RUNNERS!”By mile 17, I became out of breath and the once injured ankle hurt badly. Despite the pain, I stayed the course walking a bit and then running again.By mile 21, I was starving!As I approached mile 23, I could see m
14、y wife waving a sign. She is my biggest fan. She never minded the alarm clock sounding at 4 a. m. or questioned my expenses on running.I was one of the final runners to finish. But I finished! While this may be one widely accepted view of humility today, it is actually a far cry from the true meaning of the wordand the way it should be applied in leadership. Humility isnt about being passive and weak. Its about showing res
19、pect to others and recognizing truth in all situations, including in the workplace.A humble professional sounds like the type of person that most of us would prefer to interact with on a daily basis. It is the type of person that can become a truly effective leader. Humble leaders must be willing to
