Tom lives with his aunt Polly 2 the quiet streets of St Petersburg, Missouri. Hes a lively and clever young boy, and he finds him
9、self in many 3 adventures. He runs away with his two friends, Huck Finn and Joe, to an island in the middle of the Mississippi River for several days. With Huck he goes 4 for treasure, with Becky he gets lost in a cave, and finally, they find a box of gold.My favourite scene in the book is when ever

And although its only a story, Twain wrote it in the everyday English of the southern states of America in the 19th century, so

Every day I open my books 2 and start my lessons. Every evening my mother 3 magazines at home. An
23、d every night, I look at the posters with photos of David Beckham and Yao Ming on my bedroom wall before I go to sleep. Can we imagine 4 without paper or print?Paper was first created about 2,000 years ago, and has been 5 silk, cotton, bamboo, and, 6 the 19th century, from wood. People learned to wr
24、ite words on paper to make a book. But in those days, books could only be produced one 7 by hand. As a result, they were expensive and rare.
