example,thatofafinancedirectorwhoseplanofactionwasnotwellreceived.The

companyhehadjoinedhadgrownsteadilyfortwentyyears,servingclientswhowerein

themaindistrustfulofanyproductthatwastoorevolutionary.Thefinancedirectorsaw

potentialchallengesfromcompetitorsandwantedhisorganisationtomovewiththe

times.Unfortunately,moststaffbelowhimwereunwillingtochange.Iconcludedthat

althoughtherewerecertainlysomepersonalskillshecouldimproveupon,whathemost

neededtodowastocommunicateeffectivelywithhissubordinates,sothattheyallfeltat
