thegreenhouseeffect.Recyclinghelps,buttheprocessitselfusesenergy.Thesolutionisnottoproducesuchitems

inthefirstplace.Foodwasteisaseriousproblem,too.Toomanysupermarketsencouragecustomerstobuymore

thantheyneed.However,afewofthemarecomingroundtotheideathatthiscannotcontinue,encouragingcustomers

toreusetheirplasticbags,forexample.

Butthisisnotjustaboutsupermarkets.Itisaboutallofus.Wehavelearnedtoassociatepackagingwithquality.

Wehavelearnedtothinkthatsomethingunpackagedisofpoorquality.Thisisespeciallytrueoffood.Butitalso

appliestoawiderangeofconsumerproducts,whichoftenhavefarmorepackagingthannecessary.
