Activity1:MySchoolCalendar

Inthisactivity,studentswillcreatetheirownschoolcalendarfortheupcomingyear.Theyshouldincludeallimportantevents,suchasholidays,schoolfestivals,andspecialoccasions.

Extension:Studentscanpresenttheircalendarstotheclassandexplainthedifferenteventstheyhaveincluded.Theycanalsocomparetheircalendarswiththeirclassmatesanddiscusssimilaritiesanddifferences.

Activity2:CulturalCelebrations

Inthisactivity,studentswillresearchaculturalcelebrationortraditionfromanotherpartoftheworld.Theyshouldfindoutwhatthecelebrationisabout,howitiscelebrated,andwhyitisimportant.

Extension:Studentscancreateaposterorpresentationtosharewiththeclassaboutthecelebrationortraditiontheyhaveresearched.Theycanalsocompareandcontrastthecelebrationwithsimilareventsintheirownculture.

Activity3:TalkingaboutEvents

Inthisactivity,studentswillpracticeusingappropriatevocabularyandgrammartotalkaboutdifferenteventsandoccasions.Theycanintervieweachotherabouttheirfavoriteeventsandpracticedescribingthemusingthevocabularytheyhavelearned.

Extension:Studentscancreatearoleplayorskitwheretheyactoutdifferenteventsandoccasions,usingthevocabularyandgrammartheyhavelearnedinthisunit.
