【解題思路點(diǎn)撥】短文作者由Tom深夜玩電腦游戲這則故事寫起,并由此引發(fā)感想:

父母親給孩子購買電腦,本希望能幫助孩子學(xué)好功課。結(jié)果卻適得其反,許多孩子玩游戲、

看錄像,以致于荒廢了學(xué)業(yè)。有些國家的科學(xué)家認(rèn)為電腦讓很多人失業(yè),并使他們陷入了困

境。電腦實(shí)在是可恨可憎的罪魁禍?zhǔn)住6涛淖詈笳f,玩游戲上癮成了社會(huì)生活中的一個(gè)嚴(yán)重

問題,到了非解決不可的地步了。

Sydney與Kate是好朋友,她喜歡給Kate講一些神秘故事。聰明的Kate總是能夠回答故事

中的問題。有一次,Mrs.Sydney想難為一下Kale,就給她講了這樣一則故事:Jed自幼父

母雙亡,獨(dú)自一個(gè)出去闖蕩,后來發(fā)現(xiàn)并開采了?座銅礦,隨即成為一名很有錢的人。很多

年之后的一天,年事已高的Jed快要辭世的時(shí)候留下了遺囑。他將自己的財(cái)產(chǎn)一分為二,一

半給自己的好朋友Dan,另一半給自己唯一的親人一??弟弟Alfo可是沒等說出自己弟弟的

地址,Jed就閉上了眼睛。而Dan并不認(rèn)識(shí)Alf,也不知道他住在什么地方。他只好憑借著

一張Jed和Alf兄弟二人小時(shí)候的照片和一張前不久Alf寄來的一張明信片去尋找Alf……

1.coppermine.關(guān)于Jed發(fā)家致富的原因,Mrs.Sydney在故事的第一段中交待得非常明

takenontheirtenthbirthday,fiftyyearsago.”提供的信息中,可知Alf和Jed在過十歲生日時(shí)

的照片,兄弟倆是同歲,即可推斷他們一定是攣生兄弟以及Alf現(xiàn)在的年齡是六十歲。這也
