Ladiesandgentlemen,distinguishedguests,fellowstudents,
Goodafternoon.Today,Iwouldliketotalktoyouaboutthedifferencebetweenidealsandrealityinthelifeofstudentslikeus,especiallyinregardtoEnglishlearning.
Asstudents,weallhavedreams,goals,andvisionsforourfuture.Wewanttobesuccessful,productive,andinfluentialindividualswhocanmakeapositivecontributiontosociety.However,ouridealsarenotalwaysalignedwithourpresentsituation,thechallengesweface,andthelimitationswehave.Inotherwords,thereisoftenagapbetweenwhatwewantandwhatwecando,betweenwhatweimagineandwhatweexperience.
Now,letustakeEnglishlearningasanexample.WeallknowthatEnglishisaninternationallanguageandacrucialskillforstudentswhoaspiretostudyabroad,workininternationalcompanies,orcommunicatewithpeoplefromdifferentcultures.Therefore,wetryourbesttolearnEnglishinschool,attendextracurricularEnglishclasses,watchEnglishvideos,readEnglishbooks,andpracticeEnglishconversationwithourfriends.Weenvisionourselvesasfluent,confident,andproficientspeakersofEnglishwhocanexpressourselveswellandunderstandotherseasily.
However,therealityisnotalwayssoideal.WemayencountermanydifficultiesinourEnglishlearningjourney.Forinstance,wemaylackmotivation,interest,ortimetostudyEnglish.Wemayfeelshy,embarrassed,ornervoustospeakEnglishinpublic.Wemayalsostrugglewithgrammar,vocabulary,orpronunciation.Thesechallengescandemotivateus,frustrateus,ormakeusgiveuponourEnglishlearningaltogether.
So,howcanwebridgethegapbetweenouridealsandrealityinEnglishlearning,andachieveourdreamsandgoals?Ibelievetherearethreewayswecandoso.
Firstly,weneedtohaveaclearvisionandplanforourEnglishlearning.WeshouldaskourselveswhywewanttolearnEnglish,whatwewanttoachieve,andhowwecanreachourgoalsstepbystep.Weshouldsetrealisticandmeasurabletargets,suchaslearning10newwordsaweek,practicingspeakingfor30minutesaday,orwatchinganEnglishmovieeveryweekend.Weshouldalsotrackourprogress,rewardourselvesforourachievements,andadjustourplanifnecessary.
Secondly,weneedtohaveapositivemindsetandattitudetowardsEnglishlearning.WeshouldviewEnglishnotasaburdenorachore,butasanopportunityandajoy.WeshouldfindwaystomakeEnglishlearningfunandengaging,suchasplayingEnglishgames,singingEnglishsongs,orjoiningEnglishclubs.Weshouldalsoembraceourmistakes,learnfromourfailures,andseekfeedbackandguidancefromourteachersandpeers.WeshouldnevergiveuponourEnglishlearning,butkeepstrivingforimprovementandexcellence.
Lastly,weneedtohaveasupportiveandencouragingenvironmentforourEnglishlearning.Weshouldsurroundourselveswithpeoplewhosharethesamegoalsandvaluesasus,whocanmotivateus,challengeus,andinspireus.WeshouldalsoseekopportunitiestouseEnglishinreal-lifesituations,suchasvolunteering,traveling,orparticipatinginEnglishcompetitions.Weshouldneverbeafraidofmakingmistakesorbeingjudged,butembracethediversityandrichnessofEnglishcultureandlanguage.
Inconclusion,thegapbetweenidealsandrealityinEnglishlearning,asinlife,isinevitablebutmanageable.Wecanbridgethegapbyhavingaclearvisionandplan,apositivemindsetandattitude,andasupportiveandencouragingenvironmentforourEnglishlearning.Letusnotbedeterredbyourchallengesorlimitations,butbeinspiredbyourdreamsandgoals.Letusnotsettleformediocrityorconformity,butstriveforexcellenceandcreat
