注意:兩者作狀語時,應和句子主語含有邏輯上的主動或被動關系,否則應使用獨立主格結構。

動詞不定式作狀語1)表目的:1.Webreathetolive,butwedon’tlivetobreathe.我們呼吸是為了生存,但我們不是為了呼吸而生存。2.Tocatchupwithothers,hestudiesdayandnight.為了趕上別人,他日以繼夜地學習。=Inordertocatchupwithothers,hestudiesdayandnight.=Hestudiesdayandnight(inorder/soas)tocatchupwithothers.表目的時不定式常與soas,inorder連用。否定形式to前加not,inordernottodo/soasnottodo。soas(not)to不用于句首。動詞不定式作狀語2)表原因:Weareveryhappytomeetyouagainatthesameplace.我們很高興在同一個地方再次見到你。Shegotupearly,onlytomissthefirstbusatlast.她起得很早,結果錯過了頭班車。表結果時,常與onlytodo連用。表一個與主語愿望相反的或出乎主語意料的結果,或暗示未能實現的動作。3)表結果:Tolookatyourright,youcouldfindabank.看看你的右邊,你可以找到一家銀行。4)表結果:分詞作狀語1.Workinghard,you’llbebetterintheexam.=Ifyouworkharder,you’llbebetterintheexam.2.Frightenedoflosinghisjob,Marksaidnothing.=Because
