2、r(時(shí)間順序). His way of telling a story is unique. He violates all chronological sequences. This story begins with the death of Miss Emily,and ends with the discovery of Homers corpse. Between the beginning and the end of the story ,narration is about forward or backward to present the whole life of Emi
3、ly.,Specific Dates Mentioned in Each Part,Part 1 1.Miss Emily Grierson died. 2. In 1894 , the mayor-remitted her taxes. 3. The next generation, on the first of the year they mailed her a tax notice. Part 2 1. She vanquished them, just as she vanquished their fathers thirty years ago. That was two ye
4、ars after her fathers death and a short time after her sweetheart.,2.She got to be thirty and was still single, and she did not admit that her father was dead for three days. Part 3 1. She was sick for a long time. 2. The town began pave the sidewalks in the summer after her fathers death. And she m
5、et Homer Barron. 3. Over a year after they had begun to say Poor Emily, and while the two female cousins were visiting her.,Part 4 1. She had been to the jewelers and ordered a mans toilet set in silver, with the letters H. B. on each piece. Two days later she had bought a complete outfit of mens cl
6、othing, including a nightshirt. 2. Homer Barron was gone. The streets had been finished some time. 3. After another week their cousins departed. And, within three days Homer Barron was back in town.,4. And that was the last we saw of Homer Barron. And of Miss Emily for some time. 5. When we next saw
7、 Miss Emily, she had grown fat and her hair was turning gray. During the next few years it grew grayer and grayerUp to the day of her death at 74 like the hair of an active man.(part 4 6. And the next generation of the town asked Emily for taxation ,but failed. Part 2
10、Smell from Emilys house and the town people remove the smell. Emilys father died.,Part 3 Emilys love affair but failed .Emily bought arsenic. Part 4 Emily killed Homer Barron. Emily gave lessons in China painting. Part 5 Emily died .,From the form above, we can find that the death of Emilys father i
11、s the lowest and the the discovery of Homers corpse is the highest. Between the two points one plot goes from the present to the past, while the other goes from the past to the present.
