She must have gone to her mothers.,表示必須要做的事。(主觀) 表示義務(wù)、命令或必要。必須, 應(yīng)當 We must keep our word. 我們必須遵守諾言。 表示不可避免性或肯定性。必然要, 必定會 Man must die. 人必有一死。,表示與說話人愿望相反及不耐煩。偏要 Why must it rain on Sunday?

27、do you belong to? 你是哪個俱樂部的? 和有關(guān)聯(lián),動詞的語態(tài) 英語中有主動和被動兩種語態(tài)。 前者以動作的執(zhí)行者充當主語,后者以動 作的承受者 (即賓語) 充當主語。由于只 有及物動詞才有賓語,因此只能是及物動 詞才有被動語態(tài)形式。 被動語態(tài)以助動詞be加上動詞的過去 分詞構(gòu)成,如: We speak English. (主動語態(tài)) English is spoken. (被動語態(tài)),有時為了表明動作的執(zhí)行者,可在被動語態(tài) 句型中加上介詞by引導(dǎo)的短語,如: The glass was broken by the cat yesterday. 由于動詞be在不同時態(tài)中有不同形式,

28、 因此被動語態(tài)在各種時態(tài)中也有不同的結(jié)構(gòu)。 一般現(xiàn)在時由am/are/is加上過去分詞構(gòu)成, 如: Football is played all over the world. The rooms are cleaned every day.,一般過去時由was/were加上過去分詞構(gòu)成, 如: The telephone was invented by Thomas Edison. A lot of people were hurt in the traffic accident.,一般將來時由will be加上過去分詞構(gòu)成, 其中will也可用情態(tài)動詞替換,如: The work will

29、 be finished tomorrow morning. This problem can be worked out in another way. Something must be done to stop the wind from blowing the earth away.,現(xiàn)在完成時由have/has been加上過去分詞 構(gòu)成,如: A lot has been talked about the protection of our environment. Many ways have been tried to help the sick boy. 現(xiàn)在進行時由am/a

30、re/is being加上過去分詞 構(gòu)成,如: A new bridge is being built on the river. All the factories are being moved out of the city.,虛擬語氣 句子假設(shè)的情況如果是完全不存在的 (與現(xiàn)在或過去的事實相反),或者實現(xiàn) 的可能性很?。ㄅc將來的事實可能相反), 這種句子叫做虛擬條件句,它的謂語動詞 用虛擬語氣。,虛擬語氣在條件句中的用法有三種情況: 1.表示與現(xiàn)在事實相反的情況時,條件 從句的動詞用一般過去式(be的過去式用 were或was),主句的動詞用would(should, could或mi

31、ght)加動詞原形。例如:,The little girl said,”If I were a president, I would do a lot of things for the people.” 情況不可能發(fā)生。 比較: Bush said,” If I am the president, I will do a lot of things for the people.” 他自認為情況很有可能發(fā)生。,If I were invited, Id go to the dinner party. (Fact: Im not invited, so I wont go.) If I had

32、 time, I would(should) go with you. (Fact: I am very busy, so I cant go with you.),If she knew about it now, she would come. (Fact: She doesnt know about it.) If they did not water the flowers, the flowers would(could) not grow so well. (Fact: They water the flowers everyday, so the flowers grow wel

33、l.),2. 表示與過去事實相反時,條件 從句的動詞用had加過去分詞,主句的動詞 用would(should, could或might)加have和 過去分詞。例如: If he had come here yesterday, I should have told him. (Fact: He did not come and so I did not tell him.),以下兩種情況不講,3. 表示與將來事實很可能相反的情況 時,條件從句的動詞- (1)過去式(即與上述情況1 相同) (2)或用should +動詞原形, (3)或用were to+動詞原形; 主句的動詞用would(s

34、hould, could或 might)加動詞原形。從句中這三種情況 都是表示不大可能實現(xiàn)的假想情況; 不可能實現(xiàn)的程度不完全一樣.,第(1)種結(jié)構(gòu)(過去式)所表示的情況,實現(xiàn) 的可能性較大; 第(2)種結(jié)構(gòu)(should+ should +動詞 原形)所表示的情況,實現(xiàn)的可能性較小; 第(3)種結(jié)構(gòu)(were to+動詞原形)所表示的 情況,實現(xiàn)的可能性最小. 例如: If he came tomorrow, he would find me in my office. (他來不來沒有什么把握.),If it should (happen to) rain this afternoon, the football match would be put off. (下雨的可能性不大) If you were to fail to catch the train, you might take the bus.
