Students are required to take certain subjects like English, social studies, math, science, and physical edu
5、cation. In addition, they choose among elective subjects to complete their high school education. Electives include subjects in technology, music, art, and foreign languages. Each student in the school has their own locker for books and personal items. This convenience saves students from carrying t
6、extbooks, and allows students a small space they can decorate with posters and favorite objects. Each school holds certain yearly activities for the entire school body, such as homecoming, prom night, holiday celebrations, etc. Homecoming is celebrated each fall, usually on a weekend, and events lea
7、ding up to it may last all week. While homecoming is celebrated differently at each school, it usually includes a parade and the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen, and ends with a football game and school dance. The prom is a formal dance for students in grades 11 and 12, and is generally an
8、ticipated as the most important social event of the school year. Prom usually ends with a Prom King and Queen being announced and crowned.T: Now, its your turn to tell your own ideal school life. 9、: Heres what Mr. Wu said about his ideal school. Please first read it and get a whole understanding of the article. 2. Careful readingAsk them some specific questions to check comprehension.(1) When does Mr. Wu want the school start and finish?(2) How long does he have for lunch? (3) Which subject d
10、oes he have every day?(4) Do they need to wear ties? (5) Mr. Wu wants to have a park in his school. How about you? (6) How often do they go on a school trip to a museum or a theatre?Give students 5-10 minutes to discuss Mr. Wus ideal school in pairs. Encourage students to say what they like and what
11、 they do not like in his school. 3. PracticeListen to Mr. Wus ideal school. Then students read it after the recording. While reading, ask students to find if theres anything they dont understand.Step III Writing Ask students to write about their own ideal school. Ask them to write down everything th
12、at they can think of associated with their ideal school. Ask some able students to read their drafts in front of the class.Sample writing:My ideal school is very big, clean and beautiful. There are many green plants, such as trees, flowers and grass in it. I hope that the school can start at 9 a.m.
