11、nit4限定性定語從句一一 定語從句概念-在主從復合句中,對某一名詞或代詞起修飾限制作用的從句。定語從句先行詞 被定語從句修飾的名詞或代詞關(guān)系詞位于先行詞和從句之間,引導定語從句的詞關(guān)系代詞Who,whom,whose,which,that關(guān)系副詞 When,where,why三重功能1、 連接功能:連接主、從句2、 指代功能:指代它前面的先行詞3、 成分功能:在從句中充當句子成分分類限定性定語從句、 非限定性定語從句 限定性定語從句:從句對先行詞進行必要的描述或說明,缺少它,則句意顯得不完整,從句與先行詞緊密 相連,無逗號隔開。 非限定性定語從句: 對所修飾的成分(可以為整個主句)作進一步說
12、明,通常和主句間用逗號隔開,將從句拿 掉后其他部分仍可成立。 I bought a pen yesterday. I am looking for the pen. I am looking for the pen which/that I bought yesterday.二 限定性定語從句中關(guān)系代詞的使用 當引導定語從句的關(guān)系詞在從句中做主語、賓語或者定語時,應(yīng)使用關(guān)系代詞。在從句中作用指人指物指人或物主語whowhichthat賓語whom(口語中可用who,可省略) which(可省略)that(可省略)定語whose/of whomwhose/of which 1、who指人,在定語
13、從句中做主語或賓語,做賓語時常省略。 I know the man who spoke to you just now。 2、whom指人,who的賓格,在定語從句中做賓語,??墒÷裕诳谡Z中可用who代替。 The man (whom) you saw just now is our English teacher. 3、which指物,在從句中做主語、賓語,做賓語時可省略。 China is a country which has a long history. The car (which) my uncle had just bought was destroyed in the ea
14、rthquake.4、that既可指人也可指物,在定語從句中做主語、賓語或表語,做賓語時常省略。當先行詞為anyone,those等時,多用who引導。 The girl (that) my English teacher is talking with is very hard-working. Anyone who breaks the law should be punished. 5、whose可指人,也可指物,在定語從句中做定語。 Please pass me the book whose cover is blue.Please pass me the book the cover

Please pass me the book of which the cover is blue. 三 關(guān)系代詞只用that的情況 1、當先行詞是anything, nothing, something, all, much, few, any, little等不定代詞或被不定代詞修飾時,一般用that,不用which。 He couldnt understand anything that they had told him.All the apples that we picked were sent to the factory. 2、先行詞既有
16、人,又有物時,關(guān)系代詞一般用that。 We were deeply impressed by the teachers and schools that we had visited there. 3、先行詞有the only, the very, the last, just the(恰恰正好),all,any,few, little,no等詞修飾時,用that。 This will be the last chance that he can get. You are the last person that I want to see. 4、先行詞是序數(shù)詞或序數(shù)詞修飾;先行詞是最高級或
17、被最高級修飾時,用that不用which。 This is the best book that I have ever read. I still remember the first lesson that was given by Miss Dora. 5、當先行詞在句中做表語,而關(guān)系代詞在句中也做表語,用that。 He is no longer the man that he was ten years ago. 6、主句已有疑問詞who/which時,用that。 Who that break the window should be punished Which is the b
