2、政治、經(jīng)濟、社會、文化、文學(xué)、教育、哲學(xué)諸方面。通過精心閱讀與分析,學(xué)生的知識面得以擴大,對社會和人生的理解得以加深,分析理解能力及邏輯思維能力得以升華,英語語言綜合運用能力得以提高。為此,每課都配有大量的相關(guān)練習(xí),包括閱讀理解、詞匯研究、句子釋義,文體分析、中英互譯和寫作練習(xí)等。Featuredinawiderangeofmaterialswithstrongflavorofthetimesandvarioustypesofwritingexposition,description,narrationandargumentationAdvancedEnglishisacoursedesign

5、orthosepurposes,plentyofrelevantexercisesareattachedtoeachlessonforreadingcomprehension,wordstudy,sentenceparaphrase,styleanalysis,writingandChinese-Englishcross-translation.三、課程性質(zhì)與教學(xué)目的根據(jù)全國英語專業(yè)教學(xué)大綱規(guī)定,在基礎(chǔ)階段的英語教學(xué)完成以后,必須繼續(xù)進行更高一級的英語閱讀教學(xué)。高級英語是英語專業(yè)本科教學(xué)中的一門主十必修課,是低年級基礎(chǔ)英語課程的延伸和發(fā)展。該課程的教學(xué)重點在于提高學(xué)生閱讀理解和詞匯運用能力,即
6、能掌握和使用所學(xué)詞匯,特別是同義詞、近義詞的區(qū)分和使用,正確理解文章的內(nèi)容和主題思想,抓住文章的要點,分析文章的結(jié)構(gòu)、語言技巧和修辭特點;提高學(xué)生語言表達能力,邏輯思維和判斷評述能力,能用英語解釋文章中的難句、要點;能用英語歸納文章的主題思想,并能對文章的內(nèi)容進行簡單的分析、鑒賞、評論。學(xué)生應(yīng)該能用辭典和其他工具書獨立解決語言和文化、背景知識方面的難點,增加文化知識,尤其是英語語言國家的背景知識和文化知識,更好地使語言和文化結(jié)合起來。通過一學(xué)年(約144學(xué)時)的高級英語課程教學(xué),學(xué)生應(yīng)達到高等學(xué)校外語專業(yè)教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會修訂的高等學(xué)校英語專業(yè)英語教學(xué)大綱所規(guī)定的要求:認知詞匯達10,000以上,
7、能正確而熟練地使用其中5,000多個及其最常用的搭配;能熟練掌握句子之間和段落之間的各種銜接手段,連貫地表達思想;能讀懂一般英美報刊雜志上的文章、英語國家出版的有一定難度的歷史傳記和文學(xué)作品;能分析文章的思想觀點、語篇結(jié)構(gòu)、語言特點和修辭手法等。通過閱讀和分析內(nèi)容廣泛的材料,包括涉及政治、經(jīng)濟、社會、語言、文學(xué)、教育、哲學(xué)等方面的名家作品,擴大學(xué)生的知識面,加深對社會和人生的理解,培養(yǎng)對文章的分析和理解能力、邏輯思維能力以及獨立思考能力,鞏固和提高語言綜合運用能力。要求學(xué)生掌握課文的中心思想,了解篇意結(jié)構(gòu)、段落大意,熟悉各種常見的修辭手段以及課文的重點、難點。每課都配有大量的相關(guān)練習(xí),包括閱讀
