4、y merging, aequistions, or bankruptcies. In this chapter, the well-established firms (Fig. 5-1) are discussed here. YASKAWA(Japan), FANUC(Japan), KUKA(Germany), and ABB(Switzerland) are four worlds major suppliers of industrial robots, known as the four major robot families, which takes about 50% of

5、 the global market share.Industrial robot usually consists of three parts, including core components, mechanical body and system integration. Core components include reducer, servo motor and controller, which are the most important part of industrial robot industry. The four major manufactures focus

6、 on differernt technical fields. The core fields of YASKAWA is servo system and motion controller. The core field of FANUC is numerical control system, while KUKA performs well on the control system and mechanical manipulator. ABBs core field is also the control system.FANUC has three major division

FA (industrial automation) includes Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) system, servo motor, and laser oscillator, etc. Robots include collaborative robot, large and micro robots, arc welding robot and other industrial robots used in various industries. Robomachine (CNC machine tool) includes sm

8、all machining center, injection molding machines and nanoscale ultra-precision machine tool. The logo of FANUC is shown in Fig. 5-2.TextYASKAWA (Fig.5-3) has four departments, including drive control, robotics, systems integration and IT & logistics. Drive control mainly includes servo motor, contro

Robotics include industrial robots, wafer transfer robots, medical robots, collaborative robots, etc. System integration provides solutions for the application of robot in industrials such as steel, papermaking, wastewater treatment, railway transportation, etc.TextKUKA (Fig. 5-5) ha

10、s three departments, including robotics, systems integration and Swisslog. The robotics includes six-axis robot, medical robot, palletizing robot and other products. System integration provides solutions for automotive manufacturing, electronic processing, food processing and other industry applicat

11、ions. Swisslog was acquired by KUKA in 2015 to implement advanced automation solutions for hospitals, warehouses and distribution centers.
