Harrydoesnotneedtobepromptedtoexplainhowheboughthispreciousbottleofmud.Oneday,hewenttoanexclusiveshopinLondonandaskedforMyrolite,theshopassistantlookedpuzzledandHarryrepeatedtheword,slowlystressingeachsyllable.Whenthewomanshookherheadinbewilderment,Harrywentontoexplainthatmyrolitewasahard,amber-likesubstancewhichcouldbeusedtoremovefreckles.Thisexplanationevidentlyconveyedsomethingtothewomanwhosearchedshelfaftershelf.Sheproducedallsortsofweirdconcoctions,butnoneofthemmetwithHarrysrequirements.WhenHarryputonhisactofbeingmildlyannoyed,theassistantpromisedtoordersomeforhim.Intoxicatedbyhissuccess,Harrythenaskedforperfumedmud.Heexpectedtheassistanttolookathiminblankastonishment.However,itwashisturntobesurprised,forthewomanseyesimmediatelylitupandshefetchedseveralbottleswhichsheplacedonthecounterforHarrytoinspect.Foronce,Harryhadtoadmitdefeat.Hepickedupwhatseemedtobethesmallestbottleanddiscreetlyaskedtheprice.Hewasgladtogetawaywithameretwentypoundsandhebeatahastyretreat,clutchingthepreciousbottleunderhisarm.Fromthenon,Harrydecidedthatthislittlegamehehadinventedmightprovetobeexpensive.Thecuriousbottle,whichnowadornsthebookcaseinhisstudy,washisfirstandlastpurchaseofrarecosmetics.
