To make my presentation clearer, I will present my lesson plan in the following parts.Part One: Analysis of the teaching materialReading teaching i

2、s a very important part in English teaching. New Curriculum standard requires that students should get some information, enlarge their knowledge and develop their reading skills through reading.The lesson I am going to talk about is the reading part in Unit 7, Grade 8 from Go For It. The title is Wo

3、uld you mind keeping your voice down? In this article, the writer talks about etiquette in different countries and situations. Some impolite manners are listed and the writer gives some examples of giving polite suggestions. It is very necessary for students to learn some etiquette and learn to beha

4、vior well in daily life.Part Two: Analysis of studentsStudents have learned the sentence pattern “Could you please do sth.”So it is not very difficult for them to understand the meaning of “Would you mind doing sth.” But their average English level is not very good. Most students have trouble in Eng

5、lish reading.Part three: Teaching aims1.Knowledgeobjects(1) To make the Ss know how to use the sentence pattern “Could you please do sth.” “Would you mind doing sth”. (2) To study the new words and phrases.2. Ability objects (1) Students can use some reading strategies such as skimming and scanning

6、skills to get the general idea of the article. (2) To train the Ssability of working in pairs and groups. (3) To develop the Ssabilities of communication by learning the useful structures. 3.Moralobjects(1) In this lesson, students will know some etiquette and can give suggestions politely. (2) Afte

7、r this lesson, students will respect others and try to behave well.Part Four:Teaching key point and difficult point1.Key points: (1)To help Ss grasp the new words and phrases.(2)To enable Ss to study in groups and co-operate skillfully. (3)To develop studentsability of finding topic sentence. 2.The

Question teaching methodAs we all know, the main aim of reading teaching is to cultivate studentsabilities of English lea

9、rning and the abilities of analyzing and solving problems. These methods are helpful to develop the students problem-solving abilities.Part Seven: Teaching proceduresStep1: Lead-inFirst I ask students to tell some school rules. Then show a picture of people in public place.Ask them to tell what scho

10、ol rules people are breaking and let them think what they would say to these students. For example,Dont eat in the classroom.In a more polite way:Could you please not eat in the classroom?Would you mind not eating in the classroom?The purpose of this activity is to activate studentsprior knowledge a

11、nd introduce the new sentence pattern: Would you mind doing sth?Rumelhart points out that activating readersrelative prior knowledge can enhance the process of understanding. So it is very necessary to design such activities.Show a picture of the article. Ask students to find out the bad behavior an

12、d try to give them some suggestions.From the title and the pictures of an article, readers can get some information about the main idea.Step2: Preview, query and discussion.Let students preview the article in ten minutes among groups and discuss the article with group members. The way can help them

13、get the main idea of the article.Step 3. Inquiry and discussion among groups.Read the passage. Discuss in groups and solve the problems they have. They can discuss these problems with the help of studengs and teacher.Step 3: Query and discussion in class.Discuss the unsolved problems in the class. A

14、fter reading, I will let students to ask some questions that they cant understand and let other groups to help to solve these problems. Group work can develop studentsteam-work spirit. They learn to cooperate with each other. They will feel safe if they can discuss answers with classmates.In this wa

15、y, students can solve these problems by themselves. Also this way can enhance their interest in learning. Step 4: Teachers questions.In this step, the teacher can ask some questions to check the results of discussion. It is a good chance for students to show themselves.Show some questions on the scr

16、een. Let the student tell the phrase.
